Dear Victor fans:" I am undecided between which racket to buy , MX 80 or JJS... Which one is heavier /stiffer and good for at the back smashes? Thanks

MX 80 is definitely stiffer than JJS. Maybe you should wait for MX 90. It will be available in the market soon.

JJS himself uses both mx80 and mxjjs.
I classified him as a good smasher from the back of the court. I guess he is more successful with mx80.;).

So, if it works for him, would it work for you too?:D

I have both. However, I do feel I can do better with zforce smashing from the back of the court.

Hi Bro, ever since my armotec 700 1st gen head burst after a back smash , which I string 3 months back at 26 tension. I never trust yonex anymore. Can Z force string 29 tension , as my current BS 12 L, I strung at 29 tension ?

    Hmmm.. once bitten, twice shy.

Does the at700 works for you when its good?

LCW strung his zf at 30lbs according to a post in bc. My zf is at 26lbs. However, I believe more importantly is the pros and cons of using higher tension. If the racket breaks, just buy new ones to replace.:D

I've strung my mx80 from 25lbs, then 24, 23 to 22... all doesn't work for me. It feels hard, like hitting wood planks. Also with using different strings...So, lost in lalang and gave up.
Revisited it again recently and strung at 28lbs. Wow! It works great! No more hard, planky feel. However smashes are not as powerful but control I like.:D
My MxJJS at 28lbs doesn't work for me. Maybe have to wait a few more days for the stringing to set in.

For Me I prefer high tension with thicker string Like BG 65 , 0.70mm.. Racket break with 26 or 27 tension without crashing with partner is unacceptable.

Tension at 22-25lbs feels like hitting wood planks? but with 28lbs feels great? Maybe higher tension suits ur game but tension which lower than 25lbs i dont think it will feel hard, at least for me.

Btw which string u are using? different string with different tension all will play differently, for example VS850 works very well at 28lbs for me, but i tend to play BG66 at 26lbs which i feel more than enuff for me, i did try BG66 at 28lbs but abit too tight for me.

Base on my experience, higher tension gives more control , and not necessary power. Basically is your badminton skill that counts, of course stiffness of a racket, tension and feeling, type of racket do play a part in your game...

    Orange color - 8PS

    Blue color - 8ST

I realize YYS switched to this 8ST in the match vs Endo/Hayakawa in 2nd game game point, but he switched back to BS12 after that due the string broken again at his 8ST. YYS broke around 7-8 strings in that game.

Just remember that the KRP BS12's are not the BS12's you or I can buy off-the-shelf.

    On my mx80,I've tried bg68ti at 23lbs, vs850 at 25lbs, bg66 at 26lbs and 24lbs. I'm using zm62 at 28 now. It's my favourite combination now.
Am also trying zm65 at 28lbs on my mxjjs. However have yet to find a good combination for that.
Bad points of mxjjs is it swings both slower and heavier than mx80.

If anyone were to give Victor meteor series a try, pls start with mx80. I've owned mx60 + mxjjs. They didn't come close to mx80.
