The Singapore team, all the Thai using Li-Ning, Jan O Jörgensen of denmark? These are pretty nice guys as well And the players form India using Li-Ning... China has been to dominant lately (maybe even partly becuase of the great LN rackets ;-) ) , I think many people don't like it when one country dominates to much..
Some new news on Li Ning finances. Perhaps they'd be happy for the China Masters to be dropped out of Super Series status. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/2c5e78d6-ed00-11e1-95ba-00144feab49a.html#axzz24R073DLY
The price of their badminton racket in the UK is absolutely ridiculous , that's why it is failing . For a brand that have not establish its authority on the market (in this country) and putting those kind of price tag on its product , it is suicidal . The only people who buy those rackets in the UK are those who knows the brand well (most of us here) or they are from Asia.
Sales is vanity, profit is sanity. Anyway, Singapore GIC invested in Li Ning. So Li Ning got powerful backer but then we don't know what is wrong. If it is fraud, then bad. That means it is destroyed from inside and hard to save it.
Li Ning has a lot of different business ventures. There should be stuff on the internet about how they have taken a hit.
not going to spent too much effort on explaning but here is the link that might give everybody some clue,of course,in chinese https://www.google.com/#q=李宁危机
briefly,in year 2012,suffer 1.9 billion rmb lost closed 1821 shops most of those management left the company. li ning company in spain declare bankruptcy what kind of crisis can they into?good question dear mod,are i allow to discuss this thingy here?
From what I read before in the papers, it is a combination of factors. They moved their very profitable product line upmarket and so became very expensive. Their bottom line cheaper line (and profit generating) market weakened - other companies got in the act and took market share. The upmarket line didn't generate as big a profit as hoped. Managers bailed out because they know profits are suffering. For my comment, For that comment on Spain, no surprise to me Li Ning Spain goes bankrupt - everybody knows the market there for anything is crazily poor in a recession. There's huge unemployment in the young and that's the biggest market for sportswear. Bottom line is, are we going to see the end of Li Ning and a big hole in the badminton market? Adidas might well have got into the market at the right time. Victor, positioning itself with the very hip and popular Korean team (most things Korean are quite fashionable) have made a very shrewd and clever sponsorship deal.
there wont be a big hole since they are not monopoly in the market consumer will always choose an alternative
There will be still be a hole. Li Ning created a market share taking some market from Yonex. But the products priced quite high. In a way, that was good that Li Ning tried as I think more sponsorship money came into the game.
From a customer point of view(i.e my own experience) : Li Ning sponsorship in the past has created good brand awareness. However, I rather buy SOTX than Li Ning based on my experience using them. Money spent on creating brand awareness is worth it but I think they need to give customer satisfaction and value in order to create good brand image. Anyway, back to sponsorship, I think right now there are so other companies willing to spend so I guess for some events and players, there should be not much differences when Li Ning cutting down on sponsorship budget
Seems like Li-Ning is doing decent in the North America market. Carrying badminton and basketball gear, I can see in the future other products being available and having big box stores carrying their gear as well.
