Carlton claims that a new technique called Triple Taper Profile has used on the new model airblade(powerblade) Carbon TT to make the racket head stiffer. Does anybody here know how this new tech works?

It is not a new technology for Tennis and badminton, Rossiginol introduced it in 80's. Now Bridgestone SV-Ti5000 is also using this structure.

I think it will be better to said that this is a new tech in UK. :D

    not so new

Carlton used the Triple Taper Profile back in 2002/03 on their Powerflo TT900, MegaFlex F1 Ti and MegaFlex F2.

The only marketing blurb about I can find is:
Triple Taper Profile/more head weight/more power

A lot of their other racquets at the time used
Tapered Profile: Increased aerodynamic efficiency/improved head speed/more power
    e.g.
    Powerflo 700GR
    Airblade AS Ti
    Airblade AS 1
    Airblade Ti Superlite
    Airblade Ti Lite
    MegaFlex F4

I think it all relates to the thickness and cross-section of the racquet head.
The tapering relates to the change in shape as you move from the throat to the head. The tip of the head moves fastest, so making that thinner than the throat means less air resistance. I suppose.

I am meaning about the cross section. Rossignol called it as Variable Triangluar Section and the frame can be separated into 3 kinds of Triangle in cross section. It can make the frame to be more stable when hitting the shuttlecork.

Triple Taper Profile existed in the Aerogear 900 Fx (The Green Racket)a nd then was extened to the Airblade 900 and then on to the newer versions. I think the Triple taper Profile has been around for ages.

God save Carlton! R&D not too good i suppose....

Thanks for you guys' info about triple taper. Can't blame carlton for cheating. They didn't say the tech is new. It 's only new to me:eek:.
