in G2, looks like CL really find a way to beat LCW... only let LCW come back when he led too much and too relax...

Congratulation to Chen Long for winning the battle. Even though I have been the fan of Chong Wei forever but I feel he's most of the time disadvantage when play against Chinese player in the final. Chinese coaching staff prepares really well when play against Chong Wei as compare to the Malaysian counterpart, isn't this obvious and has been going on forever too?
Chong Wei is not getting younger and I'm afraid he will continue to be one of the greatest w/o winning Olympic and World Championship titles ... Just sad!

coz these fans only bought tickets for the finals but not QFs... :D

coz these are real badminton fans, who only enjoy good badminton and not care about which country win how many titles, and not complain about one country is too good, even China had won 3 titles before this match...

coz these are real sports fans, always support young and underdog players to dethrone the front-ranked players, and nevermind which country the young one comes from... :D

seriously speaking, looks like CW really feel his age now... you could read from his facial expressions in G2 (and even SF's match with DPY)..

1hr 8 minutes for only 2 games in this MS final!!! how could he manage if there is a G3 for another half an hour??? another cramp??

he really need to learn from LD, to take certain time-off, and just play for the majors... no more "Malaysia only me", "if i don't play, no one fr Malaysia could"....

Well Han, like you I'm afraid LCW will never make his wish come true.

He's getting on in years and like LD, family will feature more in his career, especially when he's now a father.

Chen Long knows LCW's game too well. He is well-prepared, much younger and stronger.

On top of this LCW's support infrastructure is in total disarray. His coaches have changed so many times and it is a wonder that he could maintain his WR1 ranking for so long. A man of less sterner stuff would have crumbled long ago.

Unfortunately LCW has to continue to plod on as the country depended on him to deliver the goodies. But to win an Olympic gold is a tall order.

    Oh really!

I was hoping to see at least one of their players make it to the finals. But hard as I tried, I only saw the last of them in the QF.

    Well maybe next time.

To those who predicted Chen Long would win out Lee CW in two straight sets, hats off to you.

I'm afraid even if Lee CW managed to force the decider, he would still lose the match - Chen Long has just proven he can handle Lee CW most of the time now, plus he has the physicality and athleticism - watch how he retrieved so many near-impossible shots.

Only thing I don't like about Chen Long recently is that he has the habit of just playing his 'normal' game against everyone else and only bring his A-game when facing Lee CW (not to mention Lin Dan of course but that's a different story).
