Yes, whatever has happened in the past is because LD wanted it so. He exists only for the fans, and if you think something, it's because that's what he wants you to think. He is the best badminton player of all time, everyone else is merely not quite as good, which makes him super amazing. He can also breathe fire, and when he sh!ts, RMB comes out. And they smell of roses.

I believe I've made myself clear enough here as elsewhere. To each his own then. Countdown, just one more day to go, nothing beats having Lin Dan in the competition. Cheers!

From the psychoanalysis point of view, I won't be surprised or it isn't too far-fetched to say that maybe both LYB and LD might unconsciously want LCW to take this one, for their special,long-standing relationships/friendships based on rivalries on and off court. It goes without saying, Chen Long et al would have other ideas.

Impossible to speculate what someone might 'unconsciously' want, but I find it hard to believe that any of the Chinese uncles would want LCW to win on any level - despite any apparent 'friendship'. They might have some sense of it being poetic if LCW goes out on a high, but he's already said he's gunning for the next Olympics so that would be somewhat premature.

Going to be interesting, that's for sure!

I love this. This is ignorance personified!
If you have played badminton at a high level before you would know that anything can happen on a court; especially if you're against LCW. Don't tell me you believe that LD could beat him 21-0 if he wanted to... because that is what you are implying - that LD can control the score.

I'm not saying that LCW > LD, but I'm saying you're wrong. Lin Dan is definetely the best player that has ever existed. But he's not that far ahead of LCW as you say.

LOL I don't believe what I am reading in the last few posts. Excuses for LCW to win may comes from china uncles friendship heart??? Adoration has gone too far :D

Thanks for the link. But I must say what Lin Dan expressed at the press conference with Lee CW is meant for publicity's sake to hype up the event as the organizer and sponsors would want them to do. All the while, he's not so gung-ho but a bit subdued, playing down his chances, expressing thanks to BWF for the wild card which caught him totally by surprise, the most he said was he'd do his best and not disappoint his fans esp as a 'son-in-law' of Guangzhou.

Apart from LYB whose comments I've already posted elsewhere, Xia Xuanze is, surprisingly to me, conspicuous by his absence of remarks on Lin Dan's prospects at the WC, only saying how much Lin Dan put into his training will depend on whether he's determined to win it or just happy to be given a chance to participate.

LCW is my favourite player and he is the best Malaysian player of all time.
I agree in the game anything can happen - but LCW vs LD in big matches, only one
outcome - LD always win. The records are there for all to see.

I can't see Lin Dan being in good enough shape to beat both Chen Long and Lee Chong Wei. I'd make Chen Long a slight favourite for the title.

Watch all 3 matches on LCW, LD and CL played today. I would say LD and CL has faster movement speed than LCW.

just the opening round...LCW will show what he has when he needs to....Let the later rounds decide. LD played Sattawat P. Good player in the US but no where near International Level.

my post is gonna blow some guys hot... and with plenty of 'comments ' of "what do you know about Badminton"?...and so on.

    ok..lets start.

    Definition of World no.1 = ?

= some one who 'has' held or currently hold 'some' if not all of the major titles at stake...
    and still ranks 1.

but in case of LD, seems he 'thinks' it's time to 'scale down'....his choice.

    'Pretender' to the 'THRONE'....LCW

i always tell my friends and other baddies....

1.if you are the no.1 why do you lose to no.2 and/or no.5 ( LD , mebbe now is ranked 100 ) all the time?....except on 'bad HAIR day for LD - not in the mood , or just to show his face..

    2. why is your win/lose record gap is so great ? if you're no.2 and still lose to LD and the win/lose is very narrow, then,LCW is 'GOOD'...

but at current record ? too big gap.

if Lin Dan participate in all the super series like LCW ..& can still can remain the quality of play like LCW then we can consider he is great. if we consider as world #1..why he select his game? why so many walk over?? pls don't compare LCW vs Lin Dan ...both also great. no matter who #1. no buddies can replace their status in badminton world. that all.........
