Yes, I umpired the semis between Yuka and Nichaon. I totally thought Nichaon had it in the bag especially coming out 21-13 1st game. The Japanese deputy referee says Yuka is not on the national team

Really wonderful to have an umpire in BCer's list. I am really eager to watch one of the matches which you umpired. Hopefully, looking forward to the match in the near future for live streaming. And regarding the japanese WS players : Japan is keep on producing many talented WS players every now and then. They will arrive and give an upset by beating seeded players and give you a shock. And even before the scar disappears, you can find one more talent arising from the machine. The list moves on... 1) Minatsu mitani 2) Nozomi 3) Yui hashimato 4) yuka kusunose and many more..

Most of Nguyen Tien Minh are pretty draggy with rubber games. Same as in SO. Known to be 'rubber man'.
Congrats to Sapsiree for winning her first GPG title. She impressed me during the inaugural Youth Olympics Games 2010 in Singapore although she looked somewhat awkward at times. Of course she was at least 2 years younger then. When she played at the recent Singapore Open SS, she was more stable and calm. She has matured. Well done Sapsiree!
Idk where to post this, but it seems like next year, the Chinese Taipei Open is a few days after the US Open. That does not bode well for the US Open. I feel many int'l players would rather play the TPE Open since they also offer $80k more in prize money.
