Jwala Gutta’s new look http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/regional/telugu/news-interviews/Jwala-Guttas-new-look/articleshow/18481028.cms EXCERPTS: Guess who's trying to make headlines? Its shuttler Jwala Gutta. The wannabe actress, who will be seen shaking a leg opposite Nitiin in an item number for a Telugu film Gunde Jaari Gallanthainde, has just bettered her casting chances. Jwala Gutta's preparation for the role of leading lady looks to be pretty ideal as she was recently spotted by the paparazzis in her new avatar. Jwala posed for a sexy spread at one of her recent outing. And that's not all; the reigning Commonwealth Games gold medalist also said that she's looking forward to the right script for playing lead roles. Hee hee... " When one does not works, you need to go for other choices". This is very much true in her case .
Jwala Gutta rejects Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6 offer http://entertainment.oneindia.in/te...reject-jhalak-dikhhla-jaa-6-offer-106793.html EXCERPTS: Indian Badminton player Jwala Gutta is debuting in films with her friend, actor Nitin's upcoming Telugu movie Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde. She was flooded with several big offers soon after her first look in the item song hit the net. One of them is a staggering offer of Rs 1.5 crore from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. But the new item girl has turned down this deal quoting her busy Badminton schedule. The producers of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa were impressed with her posters in Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde. They wanted to rope in her for the sixth edition of their hit dance reality TV show. Hence, they approached Jwala Gutta with a lucrative offer of Rs 1.5 crore. But the the Badminton player rejected their offer without a second thought, which came as an unexpected shock for the producers. Jwala Gutta, who is staying in Hyderabad, had to fly to Mumbai for the shoot every week for a period of three-and-half months and her portions will be shot for 34 days. But she is currently training for 6 days a week and 7 hours a day for upcoming big tourneys and she has only one day holiday in a week and that is Sunday. So she had no other choice except rejecting it. For this Hyderabadi beauty, Badminton remains as her first love. Even if she retires, she wants to work for badminton. When asked about why she rejected the offer of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Jwala Gutta says, "Badminton comes first to me, everything else is just next to the sport."
Any recent interviews with Jwala Gutta? How about her new doubles partnership, what do you think about their potential? I have only seen a few points from their loss in Indonesian Open. Maybe new threads need to be made since Jwala and Ashwini are no longer.
I don't think they will do something better like Aswini/Jwala combo. Prajaktha's chances are less to improve in the background of mess which she herself created. Jwala is not seriously involved i think. Prajaktha is so young compared to Jwala.. She need to look out for different partner. That should be the case. Yep.. There is an interview which was about her role in the movie.. Hee hee..
Jwala's new WD partnership with Prajakta Sawant is not going anywhere. But down. Sometimes I think she partnered Sawant just to take advantage of the publicity it would generate and to hit back at Gopi, for whom she appears to have some sort of grudge going. I think a new thread for Ashwini Ponappa is certainly in order. She has more promising partnerships in WD with Pradnya Gadre, and with Tarun Kona in XD.
+1 I dont think jwala/prajakta partnership will last long. Also, she has way passed her peak. Looks like when her whichever purpose is solved, she'll ditch prajakta and might take retirement. Both Jwala and Prajakta have grudges against Gopi. Atleast it seems so from their interviews/media articles. Ashwini/Pradnya looks like a good pair. They have bravely faced some very good pairs and have even defeated Ma Jin and partner.
Jwala finds another reason to feel short-changed again. http://www.firstpost.com/sports/ibl...table-with-hyderabad-says-kashyap-977261.html Excerpt: Doubles specialist Jwala Gutta said that she was disappointed with the reduction in her base price. “I am very disappointed. Me and Ashwini signed the contract as icon players and we should have been given a better deal. We were not even informed about the reduction of base price. In fact, the fact that the women’s doubles has been replaced by singles. I came to know late. What can I say, I am disappointed,” she said. Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa went to Delhi Smashers at USD 31,000 and USD 25,000 after their base price was reduced from USD 50,000 to USD 25,000 following a meeting of all the franchises at the last moment.
[h=1]Jwala-Ashwini set to team up[/h]http://www.indianexpress.com/news/jwalaashwini-set-to-team-up/1154543/ EXCERPTS: India's most successful doubles pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa will be reuniting again. The two, after parting ways after the London Olympics last year, are likely to be seen in action as early as October. Speaking to The Indian Express Jwala said, "Ashwini and I have spoken to each other and we think it is best for the country and for us that we play together because we complement each other very well and we have achieved success at the World Championships and the Commonwealth Games. We are planning to start playing together again from October." "Looking at the results at the recent World Championships, I believe that Ashwini and I must team-up together again because we are the best combination. We won the bronze two years ago at the World Championships," Jwala said.
Wow, that is interesting news! I would like to hear what Ashwini has to say about it. I am glad, they are a very entertaining pair to watch.
[h=1]Ashwini Ponnappa-Jwala Gutta to renew partnership in Denmark[/h] http://www.sportskeeda.com/2013/09/02/ashwini-ponnappa-jwala-gutta-renew-partnership-denmark/ EXCERPTS: Doubles shuttler Ashwini Ponnappa will join hands with former partner Jwala Gutta once again, starting from the Denmark Open Super Series Premier Oct 15-20. The 2011 World Championships women’s doubles bronze medallists will also play the French Open Super Series (Oct 22-27) and the Bitburger SaarLoxLux Open Grand Prix Gold (Oct 29-Nov 3) together. “Next set of matches are in oct where @Guttajwala & I would play women’s doubles and @KonaTarun n I mixed doubles. Looking forward to it ,” Ashwini had tweeted. The successful combine separated after Jwala decided to take a sabbatical following the London Olympics last year. Since then, Ashwini has been playing with Pradnya Gadre. The 23-year-old Coorgi will, however, skip the China Masters Super Series and the Japan Open Super Series in September. “We will train and get fit in that period and get back to the tournaments after that,” the Commonwealth Games gold medallist told IANS.
I kinda dislike Ashwini...No offence, but she always makes some incredibly stupid mistakes which contributes to her team regardless of whichever good partners (mixed doubles) to lose some dear points.
They won the Indian National Championships just recently. Another headache and earache for Indian Badminton Association! Jwala is never far away from the papers with her comments.
I watched the match in which she played with aswini against the BAI's pet pair. Actually speaking, she didn't work hard in the court as usual but she made shouts like "go go go" "come on" etc. All the work , aswini had to do. Really pity. But jwala's craft is good, she plays well near the net. She is tall girl with 6 feet height. Funny thing was when she received the medal from BAI chief who announced an incredible decision of banning Jwala from the badminton circuit. I actually wanted prajaktha sawant(who also has "very good" cordial relation with BAI) to win the title with her partner but she lost in the semis unfortunately.
[h=1]Jwala Gutta cleared of all charges by Badminton Association of India: reports[/h] http://sports.ndtv.com/othersports/...ges-by-badminton-association-of-india-reports
Ashwini Ponnappa really needs a faster, explosive, less error-prone partner. Jwala Gutta can't move, can't guard, can't grab points and, er, can't shut up. It's almost unfair to the hardworking Ponnappa. Sadly, the rest of the Indian girls aren't quite there yet. Nevertheless, since Ponnappa is a hard hitter, teaming up with Pradnya Gadre (or Siki Reddy or Prajakta Sawant) might actually yield better dividends. There's little sense in maintaining the Ponnappa-Gutta partnership simply because they won in the past. There's nothing that even remotely looks promising about Gutta's current game and fitness levels. Jwala Gutta has become the Indian version of Koo Kien Keat (minus the skills, of course) - unfit, unruly and unable to win.
Goodness me, not again! Ponnappa & Gutta lost to a 'cardboard pair' from Thailand. 21-14, 21-11 21-11??? No prizes for guessing whose game was lousy. BAI, get Ponnappa a new partner before she quits the game in disgust and frustration.
