Sorry to hear that, abedeng. Please take some quality rest, and good care of yourself. A hot and spicy local something (like a soup, maybe) should help! If anything happened to prevent you from lending your weight to the proceedings on Finals day, the tournament will just not be the same.
Great to see Intanon answering the call of national duty despite her injury and having already gone home to come back and play, marvellous spirit, salutary. No whining,no excuses, just go out and do it, bravo.
Jan Jorgensen was fully pumped - trying to do what others have failed to do before, and that is to destroy the Long Chinese Wall of a Chen Long ...... ..... finally, he succeeded ........ as another of his opponents Long winning statistics. Jorgensen started with full enthusiasm ..... ...... attempting to break down the Long Chinese Wall ..... ...... but after a while he started to falter ...... ...... when all he could was to scamper ....... Chen Long's performance was so immaculate ..... ..... so lethal were his attacks ..... ..... so delicate were his soft touches .... ..... that I could almost swear he grew another foot Long .... ...... which was just as well he raised his long arm in victory. The Chinese ageing World and Olympic Men's Doubles champions came out to redeem a bit of their battered pride, by putting the even more ancient World No 1 pair out into semi-retirement. But as they say, with age, comes wisdom ....... The Chinese Olympic Champs' journey of redemption .... ..... started on the wrong footing .... ..... being pushed further and further back ..... .... in a purely defensive mode. So Cai Yun tried a frontal assault ..... all the way to the opponents' half ...... By the midgame break, Fu Haifeng was starting to tire ..... Coach Tian Bingyi : This is graceful!! You are 4 X World Champs, for goodness sake!!! Cai Yun (pointing to Fu Haifeng) : Boss, it's his fault. Happy with the Chinese blaming each other, the Danes scaled even greater heights .... ..... and Boe starts to show off a little ..... ..... and you said the showmen can't win ..... ..... but this time they could.
Good as the men's doubles victory was, it was just delaying the inevitable .... And Miss Kjaersfeldt came to court .... expecting to be massacred by the Olympic champ, Li Xuerue. Fortunately, she did not suffer ....... This is Miss Kjaersfeld, before the massacre ..... LXR started with the baseline clear .... .... and quickly moved into high gear .... .... with perfect ancipation of every enemy offensive ..... Miss Kjaersfeldt knew her back was behind the wall ... .... her cause wasn't helped by bad misjudgements ..... ..... and having to fend off vicious attacks .... Well at least there's nothing wrong with her hair ... .... even as Miss Kjaersfeldt was forced to scamper to the net .... .... until finally the inevitable happened. China won, 3-1.
I think actually they don allow... coz that time i was standing on the left side during the prize presentation.. and after the prize giving ceremony, i saw ppl going down using a 'secret'/'illegal pathway' to go down... it was like illegal immigrants trying to cross the border.. haha so i also follow lo... and manage to take photo with some of the players.. that time, fu haifeng ppl and most of the korean go into the 'hall' already.. luckily still manage to ask to take photo with Sung Ji Hyun of Korea women single... i think lee yong dae early already go in the 'hall'. and also the racket that i am holding , is actually the racket that one of the MD threw...i simply borrow from the man that got it, just to take photo.. and the racket that chen long threw, was caught by a men who was just 2 seats above me!! haha :crying:
Final Pictures .... Closing Ceremony and Prize Presentations Ok guys, sorry for the delay. Under the weather lately - now that I got another year older ..... I will just skip the matches on finals day. They were not great anyway, compared with the previous rounds ..... So, on to the "new BWF leadership-boycotted" prize presentations then ......wakakakaka. Yup, as expected, China steamrolled Korea easily in the final showdown, which caused great anxiety and anger on pjswift's side ...... Korea were a pale shadow of themselves, much whiter than their pale skins ...... But there is no substitute to overall team pedigree ..... and so Lin Dan can really retire now, Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng too. Teams preparing to march to the podium ... and this Cup beckons to be hugged and kissed .... .... but not by these lovely ladies ...... Presenting, the top 4 teams - Denmark, Thailand, Korea and China ..... The Danes get their prizes first .... .... and the photographers got busy .... with the no flash rule rescinded .... .... the great Thai team presented with their medals .... ..... and the underachieving Korean team, despite their pathetic display, got medals too ...... .... after which, the 3 losing teams anticipate .... ..... the crowning of a repeat champion ...... ..... and so the deserving Chinese start to shake their opponents' hands. ..... and got their just rewards ...... Pictures of all teams at the podium ..... .... and Head Coach LYB had to do more heavy lifting once more ..... I could swear he cried under that heavy load, good thing the Cup hid his face ...... ... All hail the champs ..... the People's Republic of China!!! Chinese VIP Dignitiary : Psst!! No problem defending this title in 2015? Can I approve the retirement of our greats Super Dan, Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng? Chinese Team Rep : Sure, no sweat!!! We are the Great Wall that even Lee Yong Dae can't touch. But got to keep a close eye on those pesky Indonesians .....they're baaack!!! Chinese VIP Dignitiary : You sound like Arnie Schwartzennegger .......
Thanks for the great pictures! Slightly off on your eavesdropping The Chinese VIP himself already retired from the Chinese sports authorities. He's there as VP of BWF. The guy in Chinese team uniform looking outfit is a Li-Ning executive. He's there to represent the sponsor.
