Yeah, I started to play badminton when 8500 was the most popular "high end" racket on the market. It breaks easily at the T joint of the frame. At that time, So many counterfeit on the market. I owned both 8100 and 8300 but never the 8500. LuDang
I was just wondering how old are these.. Found this thread while googling Carbonex for fun. Mine are: http://postimg.org/image/6rc0y37nj/ The blue one is older, but it while I was in primary 5 or 6 (11 or 12 yeara old). Now I'm almost 30. So a good 18 to 19 years.. Hur hur
I still have my 2 original Cab 8 DX one red and one blue. My 8yo still uses them along with my original 2 Carlton 3.8s rackets I had also the 3.7x with flat bit in the middle of the shaft but the T broke on that. I still have a play around with the Cab 8dx great rackets.
Bumping a hell of an old thread But my dad gave me his old Carbonex 8 today as a spare since he doesnt play Two flagship rackets from yonex side by side only 30 something years difference
Ahh, this racket brought back memories on my badminton training days. I remembered that i have to persuade my dad to get me one of these. Unlike now, the price of this racket was pretty affordable in 90's. Probably mine was the newer model with golden yellow cone and T-joint. The shaft was black with golden gradient tint (i suppose that was mid 90's facelift, or in this case i bought a fake). For that time, it has one of the best feeling racket compared to others (before built-in T-joint rackets were introduced). I broke the aluminium frame on a clash, and then replaced it with titanium pro 60 (my first ever built-in T-joint racket). Carbonex 8 will always have special place in my heart, and i should have kept it as memento even though i broke the frame. =(
