Topic is regarding your comments on sports halls which you had been to.Firstly, let me give comments on the sports halls i had been to: 1.Delta;Courts are ok but facilities 2.Bishan;Courts but facilities are excellent. Just give comments on sports halls you had been to so that i will have a rough idea which sports hall provide both the best courts and facilities and also people in Singapore can share this information with others.Thanks.
What facilities do you mean? As for me: 1) Yio Chu Kang: Good place to play if you like a sauna. Courts(4) ok, have water cooler but lack of a shop. (i can't find one, correct me if you do) 2) Hougang: Big place, lots of court(12), have water cooler, a shop and a small cafeteria , good for relaxing at after a session.
hmmm... ur definitions are vague... how bout including the condition of the flooring, the lighting conditions, the free space available besides the courts? Tampines: only the last few courts have confusing lines, due to the double use as a indoor basketball court. the lighting can be a bit too glaring at times. the flooring is satisfactory. the whole area is quite cramped, esp those courts in the middle. need to have more free space. poor air circulation, really stuffy like hell. easy to get badminton stuff when needed (or urgently), and getting drinks is easy too. Clementi: a bit too windy due to too much ventilation. will affect the flight of the shuttles at times. the lines of the courts are confusing too, as it seems like being used for multi-purpose stuff too. flooring and lighting are not too bad. the ventilation in the toilets is better, when compared to tampines. but the number of courts are much fewer than tampines. think it's a bit hard to find badminton equip when needed. Jurong East: i think it's one of the best, with the lighting not too glaring, and everything else adequate. but probably lacking in sufficient number of courts.
Bedok Sports Hall -- It has the green flooring. There is a badminton shop nearby too. The lights are good and the ventilation is just nice. There are four courts and they are spaced out. It is also easy to get drink -- just outside the hall, there is a vendin machine and in the toilets, there are water coolers
Tampines: big (19 courts), the back courts (court 16 onwards) have alot of other lines and the wooden tiles crack and dent and some came off. floor: wooden space between courts: quite narrow Lights: abit too bright when u look up male toilet: big, got showers, sits and others u know wat. drinks:2nd floor got drink store $_$ 2 badminton shops within walking distance water cooler: 2, currently 1 spoil bedok: played there once. green floor(rubber?) with confusing lines 3 or 4 courts cant remember. space: big enough for u to slack around the courts can sit at grandstand also 1 badminton shop additional info safra toa pa yo: 3 courts wooden floor lights: alright drinks: got vending machines (alot) and got drink store space: got enough space to slack behind the courts male toilet: BEST got everything that is in a normal toilet EVEN WATER HEATER, can adjust temperture somemore. house rules: f*ck up, got scolded by the ass "security" personnel once for playing without shoes and forbid from playing for the rest of the remaining hours. Got foot rot at that time and feet will get very itchy if i wear shoes.
Toa Payoh SH has good flooring and lightings, but water cooler have to walk a distance. Woodland SH court 3 is terrible to play with in day time, because the background directly face the open door. Court 5 & 6 flooring is like never clean before, too dusty, without friction. YCK is pretty ok too.
Hate dusty and frictionless courts This kind of courts are courts which i hate most just like Bishan,no friction at all and dusty, lights sigh~it is just VERY BRIGHT,you just cannot move fast to the back because you will fall down if you do that.Overall, the game will be boring.
If don't want to bring mop, another method which I also find it super effective is to scrup your sole of your shoe throughly a day before playing there. Then make sure it is super dry before stepping on the court. A bit of water on the shoe sole might make dust stick onto the sole and become slippery after that.
keep complaining for Jurong East sports hall for the past 1-2 years. the floor will be in good condition for 1-2 months after our complain. after those period ???
Additional information: Toa Payoh Sports Hall Lights:Quite glaring Courts:Okay Toilets:Small,Bishan toilets are the best, big, very clean and dry floor and also can take a shower over there Watercoolers:None, must walk a few steps to the stadium for the watercoolers Vending machines:3,just outside the entrance
ok then better give more elaboration about hougang sports hall. 12 courts-quite alot compared to other sportshall.but some are rather dirty.even the mop there will not help much as there is alot of dust. 1 particular court-there is this court i think 5 or 8 the lines there criscross until so lucky there.at the side of the doubles out line.there will be 1 red tape of the outside and another blue tape inside.its so confusing.i had many a times thinking it was out but staring at it 4 a few seconds realising its inside. l ighting glaring-looking up sometimes the shuttle gets lost at certain angles of the court esp when the opponent lobs to you. 1 shop outside-not bad but price of the rackets there not worth it. eating place-good to relax there and eat after a match. toilets equip with shower tap.not bad to take a shower there.worth a try. watercooler-quite nearby.just outside.drinks in the eating place.
