If you don't want to have long rallies, which tricks do you use to make the shuttlecock faster? Wetting the feathers (using own sweat) - does it help?
hold shuttle out of opponents view, bend tips of feathers inwards. Don't do it though, it's cheating... and at the end of the day, cheaters are worse than losers. sweat doesn't work, comes off as soon as you hit.
isn't that cheating? there are standard tests for shuttle speed and it should be agreed by both players.
Don't! Just don't! Making the shuttle faster than it's suppose to be is cheating. And cheaters should burn in a very hot place.
i don't know about you guys but i usually just hit the shuttle harder seriously though i think using those methods are illegal
If you are unhappy with the pace, test the shuttle. If it lands outside of the legal limits then you are entitled to change it, or more practically, tip out/in as required.
It's anticheating, if the oppenent had cheated and made the shuttle slow. Some players understand badminton as a kind of athletics, like marathon. They want long rallies and run, run, run...
It's another way, but not complient to rules. The rules say, the shuttles must be tested before the match. Some shuttles tend to become slow during the match without any manipulation.
Then change the shuttle during the match if the current one gets too slow. I seen it happen multiple times during the Olympics.
If both players agree, why not. But if the opponent don't agree, you can't begin to test the shuttle during the match in order to prove that it is too slow.
I had an opponent slow the shuttle once. He started by hitting it as hard as he physically could during testing in a tournament, then asking to tip it because it was "fast" and I would just hit a normal side on stroke and it went exactly between the marks on the court as it should. He was adamant and wouldn't back down. The reason was because he had been watching me smash hard and obviously didn't like the fact I was winning a lot of rallies within a shot or two of smashing, if not directly. He wanted to give himself a better chance of returning and prolonging the rallies. You can take it to a referee if it's a problem, then they have the final say, don't make it between you and another player, i've had to do it a few times in tournaments to prevent foul play. If they're cheating they won't be happy and if they're not cheating, at least your mind is settled and you're both happy. You should try not to let it distract you though.
I have never done this. I thought if you squeeze in the feather (lessen the air resistent), the shuttle would go faster.
