Looks really modernised. They used to have some badminton courts near the station. Probably disappeared now. As part of the experience of English culture, may I enquire which pub you are heading off to, and then the next one and then the next one....?
Experiencing the city of York.. ..went out y'day and had a quick tour of the city of York..pretty much still has that historical feeling & landmarks (the minster, the wall)..and no, we didn't go to any pub but visited Betty Tea House & enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea session with jamesd20 before we headed to Manchester.. And yes, the badminton courts/hall near the train station is still there (photos) below..
Haha you went to the RI in York, I used to play there Hope you enjoyed york, it's a lovely place (bar weekend nights)
U are just like Uncle Loh ....... wakakakaka. He's practically "retired" from travelling since after the 2008 Olympics bar the occasional Malaysian Super Series. But when he does travel, there are tons of pics, even those unrelated to badminton.
Hello Indeed I believe that floor saved my back actually, the concrete ones at the Uni were terrible. I realised I haven't popped in here since the last Olympics, seems to be a 4 year thing
Yes it's one of those rare gems in the UK of an older well built sprung badminton court. They tore down a similar one in Stamford Hill many years ago
Must be. They all moved to The Dome in the late 80's or so. I didn't play at Orion Hall again after going to University. There are a new generation of players now. I've been away from my old stomping ground a long time.
Last few photos from London & England.. ..took some shots of the Olympic Shop store & also went for a quick visit to Bath & swung by Stonehenge.. London & England was great (some people would call it the sister city of New York, minus all the highrisers)..And had a super awesome time hanging out with BoggieeiggoB & jamesd20!! thanks a million, guys!
