My technique will improve with more time, as will my strength, but I need to be faster of mind to asses the opponent and break them down. Some times I'll start losing and just can't seem to pull myself out of it no matter how hard try
My weaknesses, regardless of the order of importance are; 1. Bad mental toughness. 2. Weakback hand, as in; i-I cannot make a backhand lob, or clear from base to base..if I hit from base.it hardly gets to the middle of the court. ii-I cannot smash from backhand, I can sometimes, place it good..but not smash. 3. I am sometimes over-confident. 4. I am mostly afraid of competetions. 5. Weak Footwork. but i am improving in all these things.
wow after reading all this i have a mixed feeling of depression and deep wisdom.... I notice many ppl say that they are fat, but most of the fat ppl i know of have really killer smashes....or a really good racket RIght?
My Backhand sucks too... I hear U.... Major ones of my own are: 1. Backhand clear. (I somehow also use that in doubles?!?!) 2. Inconsistent shots: This is where practise practise practise is missing... The backhand clear is one that shows up a lot in this thread. My feeling is that I can make the shot with fast enough raquet movement when standing still, but in a game I can't reproduce that. I'd be grateful for any tips how I can fix that. Footwork needs to improve to get me ther in time, but I think there is more to it than that.
my major weakness is that i always get nervous when approaching the end game even if i am up 14-4!!:crying:
I find inline skating is very helpful in moving backward (badminton) by doing backward striding and backward crossovers. If you were not an experienced inline skater, don't do these on the street because if you fell you may receive double jeopardy.
My weaknesses: i have problem with the foot work. i have problem with my backhand. specially i have a lot of problem with my backhand and all my friends know this and they use this tool to win the games against me.i really need to imporve on that.pls help me guys.
too short..and not consistent enough when i'm playing well, its pretty good. when i'm not...its absolutely terrible to watch
1. Tactically unaware in certain situations What is really the hardest shot for my opponent? Obviously it is not always the diagonal. Where do you wait for the shuttle? Or when do you wait and when do you return to base? I've noticed a lot of the top players do not seem to return to base that often - but they also make badminton look too easy sometimes. 2. Rhythm Still don't really understand what it is. Don't know when it changes what to do with it. I suspect what rhythm is related to time. Changing the rhythm requires time, and most of the time we don't have time - so we generally shouldn't try to change the rhythm. However if we are ahead of our opponent in time, then we can afford to change the rhythm. 3. Footwork Without footwork there is no time, you can't afford to change the rhythm. No point having the greatest shot in the world if you can't get to the shuttle. This one I don't spend enough time practicing! Although the most important thing I found is to spend relatively large amount of energy moving backwards, it take significantly more effort to move backwards than it does to move forwards. 4. Consistency No point getting to the shuttle if you can't hit it either. 5. Deception Opponents can generally anticipate where I'm going to hit it - I'm trying to change that at the moment - seems to be working. 6. Shot selection What shot do you take? Where do you place it? When do you take the shuttle? Why? Summary, my game sucks not because of a single factor but because of a multitude of factors. So I guess I a well rounded player!
For me, 1) Stamina. I normally win the first game but give the second game away...I run out of gas. 2) I am tall, so overhead shot easily sends me off balance. Some of my friends said I have weak lower back. I blame it on my job, 10 hours in the office and 3 hours commute = 13 hours of sitting every day gives me this :crying: 3) Weak legs. I think my footwork is ok but my legs get tired easily, again I blame it on my job. 4) Backhand clear. My backend clear sends the birdie not high enough to the baseline. So, it gives my opponent a dead smash. I am currently working on those weaknesses those my own custome fitness program
My weakness: 1. can't smash hard 2. can't clear high 3. can't drop fast 4. can't do backhand 5. can't do cross court net drop ...etc sssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! don't tell my opponents!!!
1. I have a knee injury so I can't move very fast. 2. My shots hit the net. 3. My shots go out. 4. I have bad reaction and shuffle my feet before i move. 5. I can't hit short lifts to the mid court
A lot, but mainly it is hard to keep up with the young guns. Haven’t played for a while, I found that it doesn't take very long for me to be completely out of breath and miserable … … I am still pretty good at 5-point game. LOL.
1. drops 2. can't clear far 3. can't smash good. 4.back hand is really really weak. 5.can't save good... almost every thing ! =P
1) Consistency with my drop shots. 2) I'm a 200 lb guy built more like a linebacker than a badminton player and my footwork isn't very smooth, thus I tend to rely on brute force/strength too much and I burn out my legs. (Been losing a ton of three game matches recently) 3)Tend to overhit the bird when I get in trouble.
my weakness: - temper - TEMPER - AND TEMPER ps. any chance that JR or TL might response to this thread
