Oh man I can't access any article from suntimes. <___<

What the hell I wanted to read it too, but all I get is a blank white page.

Wow Three out of the four sports he compared badminton to are throwing and catching sports, skills that nearly all of humans posses, maybe not to the extent of the pro's but still.

Lol, be careful though. Wiki sometimes is not the most accurate place for info.

There's very little respect for the game here. I'm often hesitant of telling people I play badminton because the immediate thought is backyard badminton (which is interesting, because that's how I got started :p). But then I flex my biceps and they shutup... LOL

But yah, don't judge our country by the National Post, their writers are very dumb. A friend of a friend (more of an acquaintance that I haven't spoken to in many years) writes for the finance section. He has no background in finance, but gives financial advice. Enough said.

This is why being a badminton player in Canada or even North America sucks because no one takes it seriously and everyone thinks its an easy sport...until they actually play against some decent players.

That's roughly how I took that article.
What do you make of that sentence, though? To me, this implies that someone in Canada would have taken badminton seriously if Bruce and Li hadn't quit school to train full-time, which is at odds with reality and with the rest of his article. Hence, I figure he just tried to do some clever wordplay and ended up writing something muddled and moronic.
Seriously. Just look at Cecil Fielder, then at any pro badminton player, compare their physiques, then go ahead and compare their salaries. It ain't athleticism that keeps pro baseball on all the 'sports' pages and stations in the U.S.

By the way, is it a Chicago thing? Have you seen any of the crap from this John Kass from another Chicago paper? Apparently he got a lot of hate mail for that one. Anyone here involved? ;)
