There's nothing China needs to prove now. No country can even come as close to match China's feat today.

americans? more than half of their gold came from swimming. delicate sport like badminton won't suit them.

IMO, this MD finals was a rather one-sided, lack lustred affair.. the chinese outplayed the danes.. so sad.. what an anti-climax closing...

its not about what suits them or not. its about spreading badminton worldwide. is there something wrong with increasing popularity? wouldnt you want players like lin dan, lee chong wei, taufik hidayat to be respected by americans as well?

they respect roger federer, rafael nadal. theyre not americans, but they respect them because they play tennis, a popular sport around the world.

im INDONESIAN by the way. i moved to america and badminton is looked down upon in here. the fact that the finals arent shown on TV live or even tape delayed is heart breaking. they show table tennis and fencing and a bunch of other stuff but not badminton today.

You disrespect the Coaches but not the players. You have to give it to them and admit they are the best in the world undisputed.

So what happens to Indonesia and Korea Super Series since they fail in OG ? Will they be down-graded now that they are no longer a powerhouse to be feared of ?

it's about self image and perceived threat. other countries (especially western powers) are afraid that China will become powerful and over take them AND not play by their rules, so they continuously denigrate China to make themselves feel better and to put down China through media propagandas... but then again, which country doesn't do this to boost their own ego? it's an understandable thing...

So happy for Fu and Cai. Well-deserved and a long time coming (since their silver 4 years ago).

5 golds for China. Amazing feat. I'm seriously in awe...

congratulations for Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng for the gold medal of MD! :)

maybe the final would be more entertaining if it's Chung/Lee in the final, but as some said, it's a history. Cai/Fu are the deserved winner.

and congratulations too for the clean swept, team CHN. ;)

To me, justice is done tonight with Cai/Fu's convincing victory over the 2 ugly danes. These 2 danes have a notorious reputation for their gamesmanship and tactical ploy of 'breaking the flow' whenever things don't go in their favor. Just so glad that the good guys won tonight over the 'evil' forces.
