Incomplete statement - supposed to write they are the only ones left to help China sweep gold in remaining events.

 

tomorrow, Aug 5th 2012, badminton finals day, some history could be made.

1. LCW and Boe/Moe can win gold for the 1st time (for their country if i'm right?)
2. LD can be the 1st MS player to win 2 OG golds
3. Cai/Fu can became the 1st MD players to win gold and silver (according to the commentator. please CMIIW)
4. china can make a clean sweep of OG golds.

let's see which will happen.

 

Yu Yang's disgraceful exit has left the window of opportunites to open for

Bao Yixin/Zhong Qianxin and Tang Jinhua/Xia Huan to step up.

This amazing feat by Zhao Yunlei will probably be the last. She will probably concentrate on Mixed Double completely in Brazil.

 

I think Lee Chong Wei will rise to the occasion and take the Gold Medal in 2 close games. Lin Dan may have an extra gear or so hiding away in his repertoire, but even if this is the case, I just have that gutsy feeling that this is Lee Chong Wei's time to shine that Gold Medal around his neck! LD is just magic and LCW deserves it being such a great player and no.1 for a long time. Winning many SS(P) events, but he deserves to win one of the big titles and the Olympics are the biggest!!

hey yong, LCW's attitude will give him a chance..It will be LD's attitude/motivation which will decide the result (if LCW will win it or not)..If LD decides to be a nice/generous guy, who knows, your LCW will win it..

 

Because of the disgrace that involved the Chinese WD, I voted LCW instead of LD.
Even people in my office that don't know what is badminton, talked about the DQs.

 

You are cooking up the standard excuse for LD s loss.

Again, there's just no way LCW can win this. You can quote me forever if I'm wrong. If LCW wins this, it will truly be the end of the world. All the statistics are against LCW - for example, he's never beaten LD more than once in a calender year.

So the standard excuse for LCW's possible loss is "lack of attitude or fire" during the moment when it truly matters then.

 

No, it's because he needed stem cell injections for a severe ankle injury, just 10 weeks out from this final. If LD doesn't win, it would actually be quite shameful for him and for China. As I said, everything is against LCW - statistics, mentality, history, and even you hehe.

And on the other hand the hopes of the LCW fans against LD are based on the fact that LD has achieved so much in his career that it has become "cool or hip" to hate him in favour of LCW.

The greater the achievement a person has, the more eager it is that people want to see him fall.

 

It's basically a reflection on the sportsman or sportswoman. In tennis, Roger Federer has achieved so much, and yet you will likely see a significant proportion of the British public cheering him to win Gold over Andy Murray (despite Murray being British!).
