That depends on your needs. I myself hate the VT80, others love it.

The VT80 is even head heavier than the VT70 and has a stiff shaft, the VT70 is medium flexible.

I chose the VT5, because it's nearly as head heavy as the VT80, but with the same flexible shaft as the VT70 ... and it's much cheaper ... I love it so far.

ALL Voltrics are more or less head heavy ... VT80 being the most head heavy, then comes VT5, then VT70 and then the VT7.

    Don't miss UK coach Paul's reviews ...

    VT80
    VT70
    VT7
    VT5

As I said before ... I chose the VT5 and didn't regret it ... great maneuverability & control combined with a nice smash, which I expect to be more powerful, than from the VT70 ... and it looks more appealing than the ugly VT80. Ok, that's just MY opinion ... others might think different.

PS: There's also a new Voltric 9, which's head heaviness lies between VT80 and VT5, if I remember that correctly.

PPS: I forgot the new Voltric 3, but that seems to have a similar weak smash as the VT7.

You have to be a very good player to control this beast of a racket.

Good looking, yes, but that's all, because it will only be the ideal racket for a small minority of badminton players ... check Paul's review.

If you want it to suit your game, buying by "design" or color probably isn't the best factor to base it on. If you don't like the V80 because it's head heavy and stiff then VTZF will probably be even less friendly to you.

Though I find, for smash, it's pretty effortless, but it's not really the racquet for me. I use my 70 more than the 80 or ZF, especially when I'm tired.

Yes they are all balanced towards head heavy but some more than others. If you don't want head heavy you need to look at other lines, like perhaps some of the lower numbered arcs or some nanos if you want extreme head light. If you like the 70 but want something a little more flex, I found the 8DX also quite nice and in that range of balance with a little more give.

But ultimately it's up to you. If you have the option, go demo them. they do feel quite different, and I think you'll notice even after 5 min of play.

VTZF, VT80, & VT70 are all great rackets. It depends on your ability to utilize their potential fully. You must be aware of your strength & weakness. If you feel that 3U VTZF & VT80 is a bit heavy, you might want to try 4U..

VT70 is a very all around agile racket which has good smashing power as well. If you are quite new to Badminton, i suggest you to buy VT 70 in 3U, or if you really curious about VT80, then you might buy 4U VT80.

I can't seem to tell the difference in flex :S i have the voltric 70 and its a pretty good all around racket and a good smashing racket if you have the power (i smash ALOT harder with stiff headlight rackets though :O) eh.... voltric 80 seems to have a bit more power IMO but thats basically the only difference i could tell....

Hold on! My idea is that you are buying a racket because of the paint job not the specs. Am I right ?
Try and find some people who have a VT-70 or 80 and try it out.
