I'm a small fan of the Japanese pair, so it's good to see them convert good play into a semi-final.

Even Tang, the thing, Hsienhu and compatriots had to throw matches to Indonesia during the early sixties under the instructions from the top. Liang Koliang had two throw matches to the Japanese in the name of Ping Pong diplomacy. It Is not easy to be a Chinese sportsman. The greater interest of the country comes before personal interest. Luckily they are not in this forum. It will be very difficult for them to stomach the insults, taunts and sometimes racial slurs thrown at them.

PHG’s defeat to SWH 22-24, 18-21 in the QF will definitely affect his world ranking of number 4 and enhances CJ’s chances of qualifying for the 2012 OG.
    AP/RAS(U) did it again beating KKK/TBH (S6) 21-18, 15-21, 21-19 and SP/ST (S5) derailed CPS/GLY S4). When will KKK/TBH get out of the rut?
JS (S6) upset WSX (S1) 5-21, 21-10, 21-16 which was unexpected as the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] game was so lopsided.
GVS/LKW did well to beat VI/IS and enters the SF of a SS tournament for the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] time.

    Nope ... who're they? :p
For some reason I can't get to like their game :-/ (Nothing to do with physical appearance :p )
I like the Japanese counter-attack ... They all seem to be good at that.

Honestly, I comprehend and accept your explanation. At that time, during the Cold war between the US and the former Soviet Union, China being a member of the Non-Aligned Movement has to consider the good relations and unity of mostly Third World countries, therefore political and diplomatic considerations are paramount, hence "throwing matches",etc.. But today, there is no new Cold War... Anyway, whatever, I will never throw insults, taunts, make racial slurs at China or any country for that matter. In fact, most of my badminton heroes are from China and I would like them to be good role models as well. My scolding Chen Jin was meant to be facetious, no offence intended, I apologise if I've unwittingly caused a misunderstanding.
