Babolat is pretty new in badminton but they have extensive experience in tennis and they make great quality product. I have a Satelite Nitro and will probably never buy a overpriced Yonex ever again. Plus the 20 x21 no shared hole is a charm to restring. Do someone know when these 6.5 series will be available in Canada?
Pretty sure I saw a Babolat Satellite 6.5 Essential at my local store (Tads) in Vancouver, BC, CAnada.
I just ordered one, it should arrive in a couple of weeks. I am a big fan of Babolat and I think they bring different approach to badminton racquet from their experiences in tennis. I currently use a Satelite nitro and there two big selling point that are overlooked in this line of racquet. 1- The top strings are completly hidden inside the frame, no more string break because they rub on the ground. 2- The string pattern 20x21 with no shared hole is a charm to string.
My X-Feel Power is dead - happened Saturday a week ago. I was playing a backhand block shot to the net, and my son came through with a forehand and hit my racquet - it cracked immediately. I need to get another one or two.
I just ordered an X-Feel Blast n hopefully can give a mini-review in 2 weeks time. It costs about USD $96 delivered to my door in Indonesia
Total Sport, Pasar Pagi JKT. Speak to mr Andy Lie, he is the owner. However, I bought the last one that just came in yesterday. He has to order them, they are not ready stock for high-end Babolats. Google it n you'll find their contact info.
maximum tension? Tungsten... is also used in yonex voltric. I wonder the feeling is somewhat similar to VT70. and what is the maximum tension Babolat Satelite 6.5 Blast can hold?
I have my new Babolats. I decided to go for the Satelite 6.5 Power & Blast, and the same in X-Feel. This will have different flex in the shafts - so one of these should be my favourite racquet. The X-Feel is also the new range - different from my original broken one, i.e. it is not broken and the colour scheme is slightly different, grommets are different. Now which one should I try tomorrow?
bro, can kindly share your kind review on each of these 4 weapons? which one is flex and stiff shaft, also what string and tension you used. ur review will allow me to better judge on my next buy selection... tq in advance !!
Ok, a comparison of my different Babolat racquets: X-Feel Blast is 88g, very stiff, 290mm balance point X-Feel Power is 86g, stiff, 285mm balance point Satelite 6.5 Blast is 88g, medium, 285mm balance point Satelite 6.5 Power is 86g, medium flexible, 290mm balance point I had previously played with the previous year's X-Feel Power which felt very good - I use Yonex NBG-98 string at 23lbs. I found it slightly low on smash power, so this time decided to get the Blast models - these are slightly heavier, only 2g so really not much different. I decided also to get the Satelite 6.5 in the same models which give me a slightly more flexible shaft. Between these I should have my ideal racquet. I always add an overgrip which will shift the balance point more towards the handle. As we get older, I don't think we can handle the very stiff racquets, but I found the Babolat is more flexible than Yonex for the same rating, so stiff was quite comfortable - I will probably try the X-Feel Blast first tomorrow and then the Satelite 6.5 Blast the next day. This will give me two different shaft flexibilities to compare with a minor difference in balance point. I will update this thread next week. [Edit:] These new racquets came pre-strung - X-Feel Blast with Babolat Finebraid, haven't checked what string on the others.
Planning to get one instead of victor BS now....this racket is beautiful and has a very good price. I am tossing between blast and power now what are the main difference between 6.5 blast and power? I know one is medium and the other one is medium flexible. which one is head heavy? Thanks
The 6.5 Blast is medium whereas the Power is medium flexible. Here is a summary of the 2012/13 range. It shows that the Power is slightly more head heavy than the Blast in the Satelite 6.5 range, whereas it is the other way around for the X-Feel range. The balance point is measured from the end of the handle, so a larger number means balance is towards the head, i.e. head heavy. [Edit: The weight of course is without string, so depending on the string, the balance point will also change.]
johnlowe88, I look forward to your reviews My main concern is the flex ratings. how much different is the xfeel shaft compare to the satalite shaft flex?
