Hello It's going to be my first year in UT this coming September, and I was wondering who's going to try out for it? I know there must tons of good players there since UT is so big and crowded with people. wildstyler
Which UT campus? I'm in St. George. I'll be in 2nd year, in 1st year I had no idea where to go to try out for the team. Even if I don't make the team, I'd still be interested in playing in a club or something, but I don't really know where I could find information about this. Can anyone help?
i'll consider trying out.... but i'll probably be too lazy to go to the practises.... assuming that i'll actually make it =)
http://welcome.to/utbc is the UT Badminton Club's Webpage. The Club usually plays a few nights a week + one afternoon on the weekend. The Club costs ~ $7-10/term Tryouts for the Team start early September. http://www.utoronto.ca/physical/Varsity/teams_index.html Wednesday, September 8, 2004, 7PM, Room 302 (Athletic Centre) The U of T team isn't as good as say, the York Team, but they practice 3-4 times a week, 3hours a night, and they're VERY strict on attending practices.
does the UT team still have sam lam?? and yeah.... 3-4 practises a week is nuts... i'm doubtful i can commit that much time.... so most likely intramurals for me =)
I heard the training practices are very physical, so it's going to be hard. Also, the coach doesn't necessarily pick the best players, he picks the players that fit into the "team". So if most of the players that tryout are crappy like me , then the "team" would most likely be crappy. But what are you going into Nanashi? I'm heading into Sciences. wildstyler
I noticed that nobody on the roster is in engineering... I guess noone studying engineering has that much time to commit to practices? I'm heading into 2nd year mechanical engineering.
i'm heading into life sci... but i dunno how much time i'll have, and i DEFINITELY won't have time to find out how much time i need to devote to studying if the tryout is sept 8.... but then again, i haven't played much badminton this summer... so i probably suck too much to make the team anyway..... quite frankly, i've played more jitz than badminton... haha
I haven't played competitive badminton since grade 10.. so I probably won't make the team anyway LOL. Even if I do, though, I would probably decline, and just play in the club... I won't have time to pass 2nd year mechanical and practice for the team at the same time. Hey, which campus is everyone attending? St. George here.
St. George here and going into Life Sciences. I don't think the practices would take that much time, but it will stop me from partying too much, since I heard some practices are scheduled on friday evenings . But are you guys going to frosh week (not much of week, but rather days). I've ordered my orientation kit already and I'm hoping it's going to be fun. Also, what college are you guys in? wild.
I'm in 2nd year, I don't get frosh week... I wanted to be a frosh leader but I found out how to sign up too late >_< I'm living in St.Michael's College residence, Sorbara Hall. Frosh week is really fun. The engineering frosh night is one of the bigger events I think, lots of people go to that party.
Hey Bandin maybe we could meet up at the engineering party or something because I also heard from my friend that it is an awesome party. Btw, I live in New, hope I get a single room . wild.
if the tryouts are on the 8th.... and i start skewl on the 9th..... hmmm.... how would ANYONE know about these tryouts??
Badminton - Wed. Sept 8 - 7 PM - AC - Room 302 I'm not sure whether this is a meeting or a try-out. Does anyone know? I e-mailed Coach King but he hasn't replied yet.
They haven't started yet; tryouts start on Saturday and end with a meeting next Saturday to see who made the cut.
