Why are Yonex racquets marked for different regions have a different price?

    Hi,

I noticed that even in some online stores, exact same model of Yonex racquet have a different price. For example, JP version seems to be way more expensive than the SP/IP or TW version. I assume JP means the racquet is for the Japan market and the rest for Singapore/(IP?) and Taiwan. However, I was told that they are all made in Japan, so why the price difference?

Can anybody help a new person like me out with this sort of thing?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LI-NING-W..._Sporting_Goods_Badminton&hash=item43a8784daa

I am not sure if real or fake ...seller seem to have good rep. He is selling other rackets but doesn't say that the two voltric are "genuine" (they are fake) , but he says the Li Ning is...

It's a present for a friend who is leaving to go back to Indonesia after finishing his studies , so any help would be great!

if they can charge higher, so why not?

Japan especially tokyo is one of the most expensive city live in
so they adjust the price with their high profile life

it would be different in Indonesia where $250 for one racket considered too expensive (and not worth it, it's like one month average salaryman), so they lower the price

in UK where living average higher + tax, they also charge higher

same answer, if people can / willingly to pay that much, why not?

there is no absolute answer about that
some people said better paint work and many agree no differences in racket characteristic
however, some people receive their VT80 JP code but with fault on the paint work (cone area)
so we cannot really say they have better paint work too

usually people enjoy to consume expensive stuff (I remember blind test on wine and water, and not many can tell which one is more expensive)
might also applicable when they buy JP code racket which is more expensive (even though it's same with SP code racket)

Pictures don't mean anything here, could've come from a genuine as well. But less than $30AUD for a genuine Yonex VT80 and you need a second opinion? :D
