Hey guys, I just found this racket somewhere in my house but couldnt recognize what racket it is. I searched around BC and i think that it is b-8100. Well the racket said it already but i wasn't sure. Are there serial code on the racket for such a old racket? If do when can i find the serial code on this blacken 8100? What is the max tension for this racket? Just another question as well, Why is the grommet not in a line? The image that I put up. Is that how its like during the old time lol?

    Hi Jason,

Yes, that's the 1st gen Blacken. The beauty for brutal smash back in 1980. It is the slimmest shaft from Yonex badminton racquet line up-to-date, around 6 mm dia, stainless steel shaft. I still play with it on and off. She was strung to 25x27 lbs with BG65 on last atempt without issue. Play flawlessly.

    Cheers!

    Best regards,
    Albert

The Blacken was also my first racket when starting to play badminton in the mid 1970's. However, I don't think this is the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] generation Blacken, as I believe the silver triangle on the T join only started to appear with the 8300 or 8500.

T-joint on my 70's Blacken. One of the golden 'y's in the 'yy' logo has sadly faded.
