Glad that you like the racket. It's definitely good for control in my opinion but the smash power...hm...maybe we have different perspective. I think it's not that powerful, I prefer it to be slightly head-heavier. BTW, what string and tension are you using?

bg80 @ 25lbs, I find it powerful but it's just my smash but its not threatening enough for my opponent, maybe its because of my techniques. I think i overrated the smash power, but I will at least give it a 8.

haha I never meant to challenge your rating, I am just very curious whether its my poor technique or whatever reason make me unable to generate as much power as I expect.

Remember to share with us more as I injured my ankle, I can only read but not play.

Third session - i played both doubles and singles today. Shiden is a really good racket for singles and doubles, but I personally think that it is more suitable for doubles play. The racket is light therefore its easy to maneuver when playing doubles. I did a lot of excellent shots during my doubles game. Again, I find Shiden is only average at net play.

have finally got my hands on the Gosen Ryoga Tenbu and i really like the feel and flex on the racket. Its no head heavy but i manage to have good control on using the racket and its great racket for doubles.

    New gosen ryoga series (2011)

    issen.jpg
NEW GOSEN RYOGA ISSEN 2011 2nd GEN

    tenbu.jpg
NEW GOSEN RYOGA TENBU 2011 2nd GEN

I don't have much information about these new gosen ryoga series. Gosen didnt release any info/news on the official website, but I think this is true. I heard that its actually released already (maybe im abit outdated? lol) but not sure where we could get it from, but I saw that e78 is selling it now. The price is similar to the 1st gen. Well my guess is the spec of the new issen and tenbu 2nd are also similar to the 1st gen. The only difference is probably the look of the racket. Maybe paint job is improved? The colour of the issen has changed from red to black/grey, which I think its abit dull ==" I like the change of colour in tenbu, as its looks brighter and more eye catching. My first impression is that the new tenbu looks kinda like yonex 8dx lol.

If anyone have more information on this new gosen ryoga series please post it here, THANKS :D I will keep on update if I got more info/details. Check it out guys!!

Finally I received my Shiden last week. Thank you all for writing about it!

I played about 2h with it and I was absolutely thrilled. The first impression: I gained more power and control in comparison to VT80 during my smashes and I felt less vibration than VT80 in front of the net. Clears are more or less equal and so are the drop shots. Both racket are stringed with Nanogy 98 @ 22lbs. The shiden is less heavy head than the VT80. Perhaps that is given me the better feeling... Next session to come on Thuesday :)!

Yea indeed.. Glad you enjoyed it :) Shiden is more even balanced, thus you will probably gain more control than VT80.. But in terms of power, I think a HH racket like VT80 will generate more power, but shiden is quite equal to VT80 too :)
