China the walk-over team. They are willing to do anything for the Olympics Gold. I believe that they are even willing to sell off their wives and kids in exchange of Olympics Gold IF they were offered the chance.

i dont know why the hate for china. its just li yongbo. besides a lot of you dont care about all china finals saying its ruining the game. so the withdrawal saves you the time of not watching it. when you are dominant, a lot of haters will find excuses of wanting you to lose like reducing number of athletes representing olympics or changing rules of the game and ball size like in table tennis.

I personally dont think it is Lin Dan's decision to withdraw from the game, it is more likely a team decision, including the head coach. But in today's competitive world, even playing sport has to be strategic. So if withdrawal is allowed and within the guidelines laidout by the organisation, then there is nothing wrong with the China team in making that decision, it is part and parcel of the so call - game.
But I have to say, I was upset too. I was there to hear the announcement by Lin Dan personally. The sentiment from the spetators towards China teams changed to extremely negative after the announcement.
By the way for those who want to see some photos of todays machtes, please look out for my thread in this forum.

This is such a disgrace. If he can stand there and apologize to the crowd he CAN and SHOULD have played. If he was somewhat sick he could still have played and showed that he cared enough for the fans and for the sport to support it. He may not win but at least he would have showed up and given his all. That would mean a lot to the paying public, some of whom may have travelled very far to watch the tournament. This is an utter disgrace and truly unsportsmanlike. If the BWF wants to retain any semblance of credibility at all then they should take stern action. This is neither the first nor will it be the last time that this has happened.

2011 Singapore Open SS: Finals Day could have been a 'no show' at all

    .
The spectators who bought tickets to watch on Finals Day must thank their luck that there weren't more CHN-vs-CHN Finals matches, because if there were, there could have been more 'Walkovers' given. :p:p:p

Looks like LYB is setting CJ as CHN 2nd entry to OLY12 MS. CL is out of OLY12. Anyway, in WC and OLY, regardless of ranking, CJ and LD will never be in the same half and rules forbide players from same country to be draw in the same half. LYB wants CJ to be in higher ranking in OLY12 so CJ will have an easier path to SF before he meets LCW. That is my guess;)

    Hi no offence.

But Lin Dan or not, he represents the Chinese Team. His coach or him, they represent the Chinese Team. As long as it is happening, it is the Chinese Team.

Gastroenteritis is so easy to fake! All you have to say is that you are felling crampy in your stomach and have been to the toilet a couple of times. If you can still make the trip to Indoor Stadium, make a lousy speech, show your face, walk around and throw a few pouches and not forgetting receiving your prize and have your photos taken, it is highly unlikely Gastroenteritis. People will Gastroenteritis usually stay home and wait to go to the toilet just in case it is needed or feel so crampy in their stomach they can hardly walk.

I am sorry to say all these but I have used Gastroenteritis as an excuse not to go for meetings in office!

Gastroenteritis should be a no-show by the sufferer in stadiums or offices.
The pain is excruciating and yet LD could show up and did what he did; that is really amazing.
The 'withdrawal' man is just fantastic.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

You are probably wrong. LYB wants 3 Chinese MS players in Olympics 2012. To do this, he needs 3 of his players to reach top 4 in the Oylmpics qualifiers by the end of May 2012. Lin Dan, the best player in the world, will have no troubles to be in top 4 in the Olympics qualifiers ranking but CL and CJ will need some help (LCW will almost definitely be in top 4). LYB did that in AE2008 for OG 2008 as well.

    There are 2 possibilities,
1)Everyone knows that, CJ with his defensive play and superb stamina, will be able to draw out the last bit of energy of LCW if they meet in semi-finals. A tired LCW is not enough to beat LD. It happened in AG 2010.
2)If CJ meets LD in the semi, he will either commit a WO or have a first-game-decide-the-winner match. In 2008 OG, LCW-LHI's semi was a long and fatiguing rally while Lin Dan won by 21-12, 21-18.

In 2012, LCW will be 30 years old and LD will be 29. Either one of them mentioned above will give LD an extremely huge advantage.
