All of of a sudden, buying what the pros use seems like a decent idea.

I thought this was a joke... And then I saw the prices for 1-2-1 coaching. £25 per hour ! (US$40ish) that's shocking ! I have 1-2-1 once every three weeks, and it costs me much less than that, Inc court fees. And plus, my coach is able to teach me how to play properly, and not just use brute force. Infact come to think about it, most people I know charge around or less than £25 p/h, so why choose this guy ?

And how can you take advice about rackets, from someone who's racket looks like it has taken several blows from a sledgehammer:p

I wonder how many national/county/league players he has trained ?

15 years ? I would be suprised if he has been playing more than 1.5 years.:)

when I saw how he do a backhand shot
I really do believe that this guy is not a badminton coach but a martial arts coach

did you see his pricing? £25 and you need to pay the court fee

    his racket is aerotus
    that so old, lol!
but can't blame him, he is really giving a basic of basic on how to choose a racket (he needs to advertise for sweatband since he is in partnership with sweatband)
and also, yonex is right, but carlton?

People of London beware ! If you want to perform a backhand clear and not damage your arm, then don't hire this guy.:) 1hr 1-2-1 might end up @ around £35 !

I reckon the Aerotus series are older than I am, how can you recommend a new racket when the one you are showing off is older than the length of time you have been coaching :p

Meh, I don't know what this guy is on :)

I feel sorry for his clients. But thats their choice.

i dont think this guy got any coaching qualification. From a brief look at his video , his technique is not even up to scratch .......however you can be a coach to complete beginner or amateurs by just hitting the shuttle back in the court and wear Yonex attire ...LOL.

I know a so-call badminton coach around here who cannot hit a high backhand clear ,and he plays in division 1/2 ; thats how low the level of badminton in England.

notice how most of his videos are just talking and talking and very few demonstration? over all his videos there maybe just one "smash" that is not even proper techniques.

Nah... he's obviously playing the garden variety of badminton.. No court booking needed, garden of your choice.

he said he have a qualification from Badminton Association of England Instructor.. in the 'about me' section.. :D

    @weeyeh
agreed, no badminton court needed, just ask him to come to ur house, and train in the backyard.. with broken-plastic shuttlecock, so the speed of his smash can be as fast as he said ( 200++ mph ) :D

This is hilarious , I just hope that ''coach'' is not a member of this forum.

And does he have to mention he been a coach for 15 years in every video. Has anyone seen his video on defense , is a complete joke !

Just read his ''about me'' section and I doubt he was a coach at Imperial college London....... especially the 1st team , this guy is taking the p*ss......

I might write to England Badminton Federation /Association and make a formal complaint ..........this type of player/coach is what putting youngster off for badminton and why the game is not developing in this country .

    It is such a shame

My question is, why has this gentleman put so much time and effort into these videos?

Surely, he isn't making a fortune in the coaching marketplace by this form of advertising. Nor is he getting worldwide acclaim for generously sharing his 'expertise', as the comments here and on the youtube page universally lambaste his inexpertise. (I'm beginning to feel sorry for the guy -is that weird?)

So if not for money or fame, what is his motivation?
