Daren appears steadier now but ZZ is still slightly ahead with 13-12.

Sorry to bring up old news, but I'm happy to see Sony Dwi Kuncoro get through a first round. :)

Though ZZ made more mistakes in G2, he is still winning more than Daren on clears and smashes 15-13.

16-14 now with ZZ still leading.
If ZZ continues to play calm and not rush his game, Daren will be in trouble.

But Daren has caught up 16-16 and let's see whether his experience will pull him through for the rubber.

Daren has now moved a point ahead 18-17 with better net shots.

And Daren survived the scare by scoring another 3 points to make it 21-17 and earned the right to play the final game.

In G2, Daren was more steady than ZZ who made twice as much errors as Daren, 4 against 8. And Daren continued to capitalize on his net play.

But ZZ is not going to give up and has just started with a good lead 6-3, with superior clears and Daren was making some errors.

The fact that Sony won at all is news in itself. Must have been a relief for him, regardless of the opposition.

Daren is closing in with a few telling smashes 6-8 and now 8-all.
I think Daren is going all out to out-smash ZZ, but the latter is not letting up with his own smashes and strong clears. 10-all now.

Daren now leads at the interval 11-10.

Let's see whether Daren's luck will change for the better as the two change ends.

14-11 in Daren's favour as he continues with his attacks.

It's now all the way for Daren with hardly any fight from ZZ, why???

21-11 in the final game! That's how Daren steam rolled ZZ after the interval!

ZZ must be too tired and weak to fight back. He must have over exerted himself especially in the first game. The more experienced Daren played his cool and outsmashed ZZ in the rubber.

I'm sure ZZ will learn to better pace himself in the future.

Only two seeds went down in MS - WCH and Hayom. So it's been pretty much by the book
