    On Court 1, Miyuki Maeda/Satoko Suetsuna [3] vs. Ha Jung Eun/Kim Min Jung [5]. The Japanese are ranked 3rd in the world, while the Koreans are ranked 17th. Maeda/Suetsuna have beaten HJE/KMJ once before, at the 2009 Japan Open SS (19-21, 21-18, 21-14).

    They will face Wang Xiaoli/Yu Yang [2] in the Semifinals.

    On Court 4, Hong Wei/Pan Pan vs. Shoji Sato/Shizuka Matsuo. The Japanese are ranked 149th in the world, while the Chinese are unranked.

    On Court 2, Xu Chen/Ma Jin [8] vs. Tao Jiaming/Tian Qing [3]. TJM/TQ are ranked 8th in the world, while XC/MJ are ranked 54th.

    Well the results say it all. On home ground it is very difficult to beat the Chinese. Those who played against the Chinese lost all their matches. THA which did relatively well with so many advancing to this QF found out to their dismay when they were all stopped by the Chinese.

    Can those remaining non-CHN players win at least one title?
