I wonder if there was betting involved in this tournament . I wonder if there was betting involved in this tournament; The 2011 China Badminton League. .
Good statistics... Taufik is no longer a reckon force in major tournaments with the presence of Chinese Trio and LCW. Anyway, he is more like a public figure/celebrity now...
I don't think so. Playing in Europe and then rushing back to China to play the ongoing CBL is no 'picnic' and even LCW was stretched by DPY who bowed out in the 2nd round of the AE and therefore had a longer rest. LCW had to rush back to KL on 14/3/11, reached KL on the 15th morning and then flew to China to play and that took its toll. Even LD skipped a match, citing a commercial shooting commitment. Notwithstanding the hectic schedule, LCW won his two matches. However, youngsters like CL, should recover fast and therefore his poor showing is indeed a let-down to us, BCers.
There are no tables for the ranking of the different club in the document given by kar_mun. And on the internet site for the league, we also have the results for each round but not the overall ranking. The procedures of the league need to be improved, its results showed with greater clarity. Now it is a bit painful to follow.
I agree. There is hardly any publicity and you have to 'hunt' to access the information. They have to learn from the Americans and Europeans on how to run sporting leagues. Just look at the PGA, Seniors, Nation's and Euro Golf tournaments.
There are clearly a lot of work to be done in terms of publicity. And also, even if they don't offer an official English site, they should make the official website more friendly to machine translation tools. However, match results are shown as clearly as possible with live scores and a comprehensive list of all game results. There are also winning percentages by players. Club ranking is listed on the official website under the title "Club Ranking".
chinese badminton super league is currently broadcasting live. http://www.fromsportcom.com/v-2/2/28/v-222912.html
Haha, Fu Haifeng plays MX with Ma Jin. They bt Chen Zhiben/Zhong Qianxin 21-18, 21-14. Current club ranking: 1) Hunan 2) Qingdao 3) Wuhan 4) Zhejiang 5) Guangzhou 6) Bayi 7) Jiangsu 8) Shanghai
any updates of KKK/TBH partnership maiden appearance for Guangzhou team? Chinese newspaper said they played unseeded players and won in last than 20 mins and pocketed 6 digits income just for that short appearance... if not mistaken they supposed to play Fu Hai Feng and Shen Ye??
This Chinese League really becomes a joke as good players from each club are trying to avoid one another. When Chong Wei comes, other clubs put the second rank player to face him, ... The fan is the biggest victim as tickets were bought and Lin Dan had another more important appointment to attend than facing Chong Wei. In a way, I am happy to see professional league for badminton but not delivering as advertised really do more damage then help to promote this sport.
This Chinese Badminton League really becomes a joke...... . I would agree when we don't see some fiercely fought battles happening there. However, the League is still good for promoting Badminton when some of our world top players are participating in it. .
I always think that FHF could play XD in international competitions, don't know why LYB not doing that... imaging FHF plays XD with YY.... really looking forward to this...
saw them yesterday in a GD sports round up show, but since my Chinese is limited to E ar Sun and Meijoooh just can tell you that they played 2 11 point games since Guangzhou was already leading. So just to bring them on court, they played 2 11-pointers they won easily - but some nice rallies for the visitors.
Anyone know the current rankings or is there a link/keyword that I can lookup CBSL myself? I wish badminton news was easier to come by in English.
