My to go racket was the green Tantrum 200, and the reason why I got Forza Ti-555 VS was because of its stiffness. At first I was afraid that the Ti-555 was too stiff and head heavy for me. But once I tried the racket, for me it was similar with T 200 with more precision and power. The BP of Ti-555 is 320 mm and my T200 is 293 mm, but I have no problem adjusting to it, although I have to sacrifice a little bit with my defense. For me Ti-555 VS is like the attacking version of T 200.
wow you got me drooling here dr. Erique looking forward to meet you on Feb 5th so I can demo your FZ Ti-555
I can confirm that Mads Conrad-Petersen is using the 550 instead of the 555.According to him there is no difference between the both.
They're just different materials from what I understand. Any, I'm serious if anyone wants one to try out. My unstrung one is just here gathering dust, so drop me a PM if you're interested.
Can somebody report something about the 96 holes stringing pattern? What about the stiffness compared to other brands like Yonex and Victor. Especially compared to the SW35? I like stiff rackets, can handle the SW35, but I'm afraid if i can handle a VS Forza racket. What about the headhevyness? Most Forza rackets are stated with 290mm balance point. Can somebody tell me something about your experiences with Forza rackets?
I did a review of the S version, so you can do a search. To paraphrase, I've owned a SW35, and I think the 550S is easily as stiff - the VS I suspect would be the next level above. I however haven't owned both at the same time so can't really compare directly, but the S at least is similarly weighted to the SW35. It's not head heavy and plays like an even balanced racket. I think the overall torsional stiffness of the head is not quite on the same level as the SW35 which is amplified somewhat by the very obvious stiffness of the shaft. It's not a bad thing, it just makes for a different feel. The stringing pattern is very dense, and because when you strike the shuttle you're actually using more strings to do so, you need much lower tension. For example I usually use 26/27lbs, and with the 550S I ended up with 24 to get the same hold, feel and control. At 27lbs it was, for me, unplayable. Stringing with 96 strings is a whole other learning curve. Hope that helps!
Thank you Maklike Tier. I have found your review. Sounds good for me. I'm looking forward for the Meteor X80 and then I will made a decision between the Forza or the MX80.
