Yep, I switch the channel after a boring first set. Rodick VS wawrinka match is much more entertaining. :)

Congrats to all winners. The ever consistent LCW , and of course the VERY consistent China squad with 4 titles here.

Next week Korea Open will be more competitive where all the best play there. (Not all top MD players play here)

Lee Chong Wei played superbly against Taufik Hidayat in the men’s singles final match and won the 1st game 21-8.
The pattern appeared to be repeated in the 2nd game until 18-8 when suddenly the tide ‘turned’ and TH scored 9 points in a row. This is just not possible for the world number 1 to be on the receiving end of such an onslaught. Even the commentator said the unthinkable could happen and the crowd was very concerned.
The question is, ‘Did LCW allow his good friend TH a leeway so that TH’s losing score would be respectable?’ No doubt it would be embarrassing for TH to lose both games in single digits.
At 17-18 LCW stopped the rot and scored 4 points in a row to win at 21-17 and he did it just as easily as when he scored early on in the 2nd game. !!!
Notwithstanding the aforesaid, “Congratulations LCW, for winning the Malaysian Badminton Open Men’s Singles title for the 7th time.

LD is only generous to his compatriots and not to 'non-Chinese' opponents.
He withdraws from the quarter-final match of 3 tournaments and TH is not convinced at all.
Please refer to the Malaysian Star of 22/1/2011.

I have decided to buy a LC Yonex racket tomorrow.

I am convinced that LCW is a badminton legend for Malaysia. No one had ever achieved so much, nowhere near. I should at least keep something to remember this great player. And also, looking at the current Malaysia backup squad, it is disappointing.

I started watching badminton from the Soh Swee Long time. There are occasional big names like Misbun, Foo Kok Keong, Ong Ewe Hock, Rashid Sidek. But no one had shown such skill level and consistency.

Staying as world number 1 for so long and winning so many SS. Just magnificent.

At the beginning of last year, critiques has been saying LCW never win back to back tournaments. Now, I do not think anyone has any doubt about that. And LCW has proven in the Taipei final and MO, he has scaled a new height in terms of his skill and consistency.

Really eagerly waiting for the next LCW vs LD match. Hopefully no one chicken out in the last few minutes.

LCW has won 16 SS MS titles and 3 SS Masters titles.
He is indeed the most successful badminton player with regards to SS wins.

Congratulations to LCW: Winning the Malaysian Badminton Open title 7 times

    .
Congratulations to LCW for winning the Malaysia Open Mens Singles title for the 7th time.

Although, neither did I get to watch the Final match (against Taufik Hidayat) nor did I know their progressive scores, the final score of 21-8, 21-17 (in only 37 minutes) is impressive.

It shows that LCW has prepared well for this 2011 Malaysia Open SS tournament and he was very determined to win it.

    Well Done LCW.

beating comprehensively a former olympic and asian games gold medalist is indeed a good achievement, even though he is already old and past his peak a long long time ago.
at least, boleh-fans have somethg to shout abt 4 time being.

pralinescream is sure datuk allowed taufik a few more points in the end.
this is acting very unprofessionally bcoz he did not give his best during those times.

If you guys saw the interview given by LCW on Astro Arena CH 801, he did say something like (in the 2nd set) he gave TH some free points when the score was at 18-8 and when TH closed the gap to 18-17, he (LCW) was a bit tensed but managed to finished off the match. And I think TH knew it too.

I am much confused with the post

    .
When we talk about age, we compare their relative age.

The age difference between LCW and TH is only ONE year. It cannot be said that TH is old (as compared to LCW's age).

I am much confused with the post.:confused::confused:
