    Hi guys,

My racquets are usually strung at AJ Puchong when I'm in KL, and I find that the Malay guy there does a pretty good job compared to the other staff. Racquet Zone few doors away also does a good job but for a slightly higher price.

I've read that alot of ppl here prefer RZ over AJ, but I was wondering if there were better stringers around town, maybe at Pertama Complex? And does any of the stringers here do 2 pc stringing rather than 1pc? I've never got a 2pc string job in KL, but after half a year in Sydney, all my racquets are strung with 4 knots.

jug8man seems to be a reputable stringer.. which shop is this? :D

Most reputable stringing place can do a 2 knot / 4 knot job. Just have to put in a remark on your preference, else the stringer will string it to his own liking. As per my experience and experiments with 2 knots / 4 knots, there are subtle differences, plus pros and cons to each.

I have my strings done at Sportsprises79 @Lucky Garden, Bangsar. IMHO, best place for stringing in terms of consistency and tension not loosing too quick.

RZ and AJ are for those around Puchong area. In Cheras or even Balakong you can try visit 3Sports or Mines Sport respectively. I've heard a lot about Racket world in Pertama but never tried although they uses the ES5 and ES5 Pro stringing machine from Yonex.

i not sure whether there's another name. the shop is just facing the river, a construction site is at it's front. lower down is a food stall. the sign board with a Yonex logo, PG & LCW photo on its mirror door.

Grrr... tried the stringers at Ara court. Somehow, the guys managed to skip 2 weaves at the top 3rd/4th crosses. No wonder the racket felt funny when I tested it out. Unfortunately, I only realised when I came back to Singapore. Wasted my BG66U (S$17) + RM10. Luckily it's a 66U and not a 66M.

On the bright side, they seem to have a pretty standard tension on an ECP machine so hopefully this is a one-off mistake. :(

Went back after a month+ to confront the shop about the defect. The guy at the shop was at quite a loss that, despite knowing its their fault, failed to do any service recovery. I am sadden by excuses like it does not affect playability and that the string is close to breaking anyway (after like 5 strokes). Something must be wrong with me since I could tell something's amiss on the first stroke or cause enough wear to a BG66U with 5. The boss not being around despite me waiting 2+ hours (playing in court) helped him escape any decision. Yes, I know the negotiation tactic is called "referring to higher authority". I ended up wasting the JP strings (~RM50).

Racketworld@Pertama Complex ended up getting my business for the 3 rackets that could have gone to them. The experience left enough distaste that they will not be getting any business from me. It's too bad because their location was so so convenient for me.

Guys, I am opening this thread as it is very relevant to my situation:)

I would like to string my Yonex Muscle Power in KL (inexpensive one, 50 AUD). I stay in a hotel and work in the heart of the city and will leave KL on 2/3. Any suggestions about a shop that will string this racquet is close by and reachable by LRT will be much appreciated.

I may also buy a new one and get it strung too, if I can find a shop nearby.
    Cheers

Thanks. I hope to make it to the complex in LRT! Not sure how long it will take. I would be happy if they could give it to me the same/next day (with some extra charges, of course :) )
