Actually this is very logical but I would adapt it a bit, if I am selling seasonal goods like mooncakes I would hire someone on a short term contract ,gather the big bucks and do something else moderately the rest of the time.

LOL, can select LD if can afford high maintanence fees - he only turns up for selected projects, need to get additional assistant to oversee the other projects. But if the usual, for sure will select the lower salary one, result the same, but salary 60% the 'high end' employess - very true from 1st hand experience
Provided the additional sales justify paying the super higher salary. Need to calculate, sometimes after averaging out, it's more cost effective to get the 'consistent' at lower salary
