heh, you do know that china's population outnumbers malaysia's by 40 to 1 so, yes they can produce replacements like a car assembly line!
Ok maybe China isn't a good example. How about Denmark? Their population is 1/3 that of Malaysia and yet they consistently produce world champs both men and women. Peter Gade may be on the way out but Jan Jogersen is ready to take over and don't forget their current world junior champion Viktor Axelson. I don't think we have the same talent waiting in the wings to take over from LCW.
It is not easy to find a TH, LD and LCW and have all 3 at about the same age group and playing in the same era. This could be either good or bad depending on how you see it. Good if we are spectators, bad for the players as only one will win. It takes more than sheer talent, it takes commitment, sacrifice, years of nurturing and parents blessing...if you see the 'Shuttle', you will see the journey and financial sacrifice that TBH's parent took for his son...I am not sure how many parents would do that for the love of their young son for a game that reward only a handful few. I can tell you I won't.
Legs like lead, shoulders drooping, head down and gasping for air and asking for time out to apply plaster to a finger, its a message to the lion to maul the wounded gazelle.
Now datuk can focus on winning all the tournaments LD won. Trying to match him or do better. Also to get a better head to head. Provided LD doesn't chicken out and retire first. badminton life is a journey. Not an end itself.
Watch again the old video 1982 World Cup final between LSK and LCW's coach and see if history has repeated itself.
if you are asking lcw to retire what about the rest of the players who are way below him? no need for them but only lcw? can we have a double standard here? no, we can't. so really what are you trying to tell bc members here. just by shocking bam with lcw retiring will turn things around for malaysia juniors? producing champion is like running an auto assembly line? how convenient, no need to pay so many coaches so many trainers instead pay only someone who knows how to push buttons.lol lcw has done more than enough.lol
yes, first time i also see lcw so tired, could it be the fever/flu troubling him after he reached gz or was it because he couldn't train as much as he should after the commonwealth? of course, one may take that as an excuse, it just depend on what he wants to hear.lol
There you go again... It's better to replace excuse with reason. Then you don't need the last line. Don't keep stroking up issues. Time to move on.
1 - Maybe it will spur BAM to REALLY get their junior programs running effectively to produce more players? Start afresh. 2 - See above 3 - Why not? China, Denmark, S.Korea and until a while ago Indonesia. They must be doing something right. 4 - what the? 5 - Exactly my point
That's only what you saw? For most of the match, his head was up, his movement was fluid and he was up against someone his match with 8000 crowd energising his opponent throughout the match. Why would he ask for first aid unless it interferes with his perfect play? Did you not see LD needing breaks? Not ready for serve? I agree with Dr Evil. LCW displayed mental strength. Unfortunately this time his physical stamina failed him. Who else could take the top 2 CHN MS for an hour each consecutively
Hiyaaa, just send a MCdonalds, KFC, Jusco or Tesco voucher to Dato A's postal address. Can buy the voucher from counter. This one is some time ago. During CWG, photo in NST(but not online version). I'm surprised you all now only bring it up.
We have a young sailing team. At the rate they win medals, some are gonna be millionaires before they reach 25 years old.
Google translate, After the award ceremony, when Lin Dan was surrounded by all to celebrate, LCW turned and left quietly. He did not attend the news conference, also did not receive any media interviews, including the media from Malaysia. When Lin Dan is being concerned at the news conference, a staff member sighed, Lee Chong Wei went back to the lounge began to cry. This is perhaps why he is not willing to face the media. pity him..
Players observe their opponents in matches, when your opponent reaches the state mentioned as in set 3, it is time to move in.The idea is to trap the opponent and control the pace and speed until you get him to reach that stage, other small breaks may just be breaks to reflect or upset opponent's concentration. They are 2 different things. Sometimes when players reach a certain stage of exhaustion, a prolonged break may help recovery, that's why there is a rule that play must be continuous. That state in the 3rd set may be a result of previous matches, it occured when LCW had won the 2nd set and when it went into the 3 rd the slump began.
Lets see who is motivated or not? LD you meant? If he is still around and haven't retire yet why not. Or are you trying to cover you a** now that if someone else wins it besides LD then you are going to say because he was demotivated. Besides its still 2 more years ahead. Don't chicken out yet.
