Also depends on who will meet MAS in the final - IND or ENG?

IND strong in WS & XD and possibly MD
ENG strong in XD, MD and possibly WD

IND and ENG will have equal chance as MAS to win Gold at the Team Badminton event

    .
Regarding the team event, it looks like a 90% chance that LCW and KKK/TBH would not be defeated. But that is only 2 out of the 5 matches (as played in the team event).

IMHO, IND and ENG will have equal chance as MAS to win Gold at the Team event.

So we more or less agree that MAS, IND and ENG are in contention for the Team title.

However, while MAS has two very solid events in MS and MD, and IND has only one in WS, ENG cannot be sure of any.
Only the form and circumstances of the day will determine the players' performance and both IND and ENG will have to hope for favourable outcomes.

2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi: ENG, IND and MAS are equal strength in Team event

    .
Yes, team players for ENG, IND and MAS do share about equal strength in the Team event at this 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. It's about the same strength, as you witnessed at our 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.

Actually, at our 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games I was expecting SIN to win Bronze in the Team event; But for SIN, Li Li wasn't playing as well as she should. And for IND, Saina Nehwal was playing exceptionally well.

This web site is a disgrace. The organisers should be ashamed of themselves. I was involved with badminton at Melbourne 2006 and if we'd had this sort of results page, I would have been dismissed instantly.

Unfortunately, the CWG organisation has a contract with a sports IT organisation to cover the whole Games - and they (the contractors) have a 'one size fits all' approach. I can attest to that having been involved with the sport at Melbourne. We even had to prepare our own tie shet to record scores because the contractors could not/would not prepare one that was based on our specific layout. Tournament Software won't get a look in under these circumstances, much as we'd like it.

    Hi willnz,

    Welcome to BadmintonCentral !!! :):):)

Yes, congratulations to you for supplying us with easier to read Badminton results when the 2006 Commonwealth Games was held in Melbourne.

Even though I was at the Badminton venue everyday, when I returned home I would log in to read the results every night.

You have done a great job. :):):)

ALready posted in pg 2 : Team. To defend Team gold. The decision makers took WD out due to WPT's absense.

As for website, yes yes , fully agreed with the other posters, this website even worse than SEA Games . Want to see update or results for other sports also so slow.

Don't blame it on badminton! The Games organisers have a contract for results across the whole Games - and badminton just has to put up with it, although the technical people involved should have seen thee problems and had them corrected. We had a similar problem in Melbourne and we did our own paperwork for the team event so the results could actually be read. The knockout draws for individuals should be OK (fingers crossed!)

Some of you guys seem to be able to access the results better than I can. If anyone would like to post Australia's results (including individual results), that would be great! Though i'm sure i'll hear about how we go against MAS tomorrow! I think the only things we might actually have a chance of even getting a set in would be WS or XD, and thats only because our players are imported from Taiwan and Malaysia haha.

    CWG Website

    That website is a disgrace.

I haven't tried any other sports yet but I can't see how it's going to work for any of them.

    Astoundingly poor design.

Ask them to write it down, scan it and load it up. More effective. Sometimes technology is just a nuisance hiring all these rocket scientists to do the job. ;)

Credibility lost really. Who is in the IT committee? Should hire some BC people to do it. lol. ;)
