I think it is very basic civilsed behaviour to respect people's privacy. People have no obligation to tell the world

affairs that are best kept for restricted viewers. That is the limit of good behaviour, otherwise you will have perverts installing webcams in toilets, tapping people's phones etc, harassing underaged people on the internet etc, a sure sign of bad taste, people like that need to be put properly in their place as they are a bad influence.

This is to discount any possible conflict of interest. I have been in some key management positions and conflict of interest often reared its ugly head. Let us say if you are a close friend of BAM's president or another a friend of Ganga Rao and yet another person is close to a team member, or you are an interested party with ties, directly or indirectly, with any sponsors, your opinion will then have to be evaluated in the light of such relationship. There is nothing wrong but such possible conflict of interest must be revealed first and the contributor must then refrain from any input and exclude himself or herself from the meeting. It is like when a board sits down to evaluate and then award a large contract and one or more of the members are in a position of conflict of interest without revealing it prior to the meeting and without disqualifying themselves from the meeting, then it is a serious matter. The presumption then is a serious conflict of interest with resultant hanky-panky.
One of the ways I have always used to "screen" the integrity of every member of the board was to let that chap loose with extensive powers. You will sure enough find out who are the crooks and who the trusted o

Wow this one takes the cake, even my nephew and niece in Elementary School is laughing non-stop!

Imagine an inquiry is held on Nazi War criminals and the Tribunal disqualifies all Jews from testifying and being witnesses because they have conflict of interests especially if they survived the war camps.. The Tribunal accepts data only from people not involved with the ethnic cleansing and who declare their neutrality . The Tribunal will only accept official data on the war camps published by the German Government and nothing else!

Wow, you learn new ways everyday and from people who claim to have done brilliant things! Funny!

I am beginning to like this thread, its better than Benny Hill or Mr.Magoo!

lol, lol. I think it's more of English & Chinese language press and not malay language press.
If one read 3 english press, 5 malay press, a few more chinese press, will reach different conclusion. THat's before adding insider info factor ;)

BAM is in a MESS because BAM is not acting quick enough to answer questions asked

    .
    Well said. ;););)

With so much info from so many different sources, we need to take a step back to think/decide.

To me, BAM is in a MESS because BAM is not acting quick enough to answer questions asked.

Look, no national sports federation will answer questions asked by all and sundry. To do so will be frivolous simply because you will end up answering millions of questions, including so called questions like we read in BC but that were never delivered.
No national sports federation has it in its constituton a duty to answer questions. However, there is such a thing as items or topics set out in an agenda for a meeting of the federation for discussion. Examples are a task force to look into Malaysia's poor TC and UC performance. Only questions of this status and standing are to be addressed by BAM, not some angry BC fans who blame everything from their own morning headache to Ants' BAM in a mess. Another example is the inquiry into France's football mutiny incident in the World Cup. Now, don't bash the FFF (France Football Federation) for not answering all the questions being raised by a million and one French fans. They will hold an inquiry in July and everyone from president, players, coaches, medical staff, etc will be called up by the FFF for details, to find out who are responsible, and will then take disciplinary actions and sanctions.

Need to put ISO into place lah. Every quarter, they should also meet the press questions including BCers questions...;) Boleh?

Time for radical ideas. Anyone volunteer to be the BC committee to drill them? ;) If no one volunteer means, no one cares correct? ;)

    Is there hope?

    Set-up must change

    By RAJES PAUL

PETALING JAYA: Statistics show that Malaysia are facing a serious imbalance in their training structure based on the outcome of the just concluded Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold in Johor Baru.
And hopes are high on the Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) new coaching and training chairman, Ng Chin Chai, to make some drastic changes to ensure that Malaysia remain among the top four badminton playing nations in the world.
In the GP Gold, world No. 1 and defending champion Lee Chong Wei defeated Wong Choong Hann for the singles title to continue his amazing decade-over unbeaten run over the veteran.
Back-up squad shuttlers have also not beaten Chong Wei over the last 10 years and the present crop failed to produce outstanding results in Johor Baru with none making it to the quarter-finals in the second-tier international Open.
Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS) player Soong Joo Vern almost pulled the rug from under top back-up shuttler Tan Chun Seang before going down 21-15, 9-21, 18-21. And it showed that Malaysia have talent in the junior ranks but their potential is not fully tapped when they make the grade to the back-up squad.
Choong Hann and the Ng sisters women’s doubles pair of Hui Lin-Hui Ern are no longer in full-time training with the national team. And their ability to make it to the final has raised doubt on the quality of training in the so-called excellence centres.
The situation is worse in the women’s department with most of the top players, including Wong Mew Choo and the doubles pair of Chin Eei Hui-Wong Pei Tty, nursing one or another kind of injury. The number of women taking part in competitive badminton is also dwindling.
There are only four women’s singles players in the elite team, not discounting the injured Julia Wong and seven in the doubles.
The only bright spark during the Malaysian Open GP Gold was the breakthrough of men’s back-up pair Mak Hee Chun-Tan Wee Kiong when they defeated world No. 1 Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong. But there has to be more more consistency in good performances in the men’s doubles department.
Chin Chai admitted that things were not looking all rosy in the Malaysian badminton set-up and he has pledged to bring changes for the better.
“In the singles department, we have 21 players and seven coaches. In the doubles, we have 29 players and eight coaches,” he said.
“At the BJSS, we have 65 players and nine coaches. There is an imbalance between our elite and development programme and this is not the right structure. We need to send some coaches back to the BJSS.”
Chin Chai, who is also the BAM secretary, is also looking at a revamp of the structure for second tier players in the national team.
“There is a great need to push the players between the ages of 18 and 23 to make it among the top 20 in the world. We have to work on this. We need to give emphasis to development programmes.
“Currently, the measurement for a top coach is based on short-term successes – at the Asian Games or Olympics.
“I am hoping at having a coaching and managing team to give complete devotion to grooming future stars. At the moment, the struggle is to get suitable candidates to live up to this commitment. We have to strengthen the structure.”

producing skilled players and producing iron-boy is totally 2 different things

maybe he was commenting on elite and development program only

Errr, are you refering to MS dept? When BAM did the revamp & listed the players, at least in BC we can already guess who will be dropped - either Liew Daren(23), Lok CC(22) or Lim Fang Yang(21).

If it's MD dept, only Vountus Indra is 21. Lufti =22, Razif Latif =24, either one of these 3.
