mmm LG? do they offer 0 dead pixel warranty? I think they do.. the reason I chose samsung is cause afaik their screens are really the best (or at least one of the best) out there. And they have 0 dead pixel warranty.

Sharp LEDs are the best, one even comes with a bluray player.Sharp products also have better QC.

Plasma images no better than crts.

Why buy a dvd recorder? It cant capture HD anyway unless its a blu-ray recorder.

Better to buy an external PC capture device and store the stuff on an external hard drive and much later burn them to

a bluray disc. If you think you can convert the Hd and burn them to normal DVD you're in for a shock, a normal dvd can

only store half hour of HD footage, then again after tedious conversion.

if the purpose is youtube, all you have to do is buy an external TV/capture card (200rm) use the composte tv outlet and composite cables.plug it via USB to your computer, use windows movie maker, capture it in WMV or MP4 to Hard disk,
then upload the file to youtube after splitting them into 10 minute chunks. It is the shortest route I know.
Some uploaders use AVCHD instead of WMV or FLV i think because AVCHD has the highest compression.

Talking about the drastic technological advancement in the world of tv reminds me of my grandmother. I promise to buy her a new color tv to replace her old, black & white cubiodal wodden shape tv many years back. Then one day, i bought her to a tv shop and ask her, which type of color tv that she wants....then she confidently said " i want a green color tv"............

Who want my old 29" phillip HD TV and JBL home theater system? $100. Come and pick up. keke. ;)

The funny thing about HDTV is that no size is big enough. I suggest you forget about 40" to 42" size and go for at least 55" or better still 60".
This is the size I am now looking. Anything smaller will only make me regret later and then wished I had bought a larger one.
Go for the new Full HD LCD with Full LED plus local dimming or Edge LED with local dimming with 3D.

42 inches should be the norm these days. Panasonic Plasma or Sharp Aquos LCD is the best!

As for AVCHD (.mts & .m2ts) format being uploaded straight to youtube, as is, the last time i know, youtube doesn't accept it. In other words, the format is out of range for youtube. But once converted to different formats, then yes, youtube accept them.
