off topic: at the same time, i think that member or whoever has the right to post whatever s/he wants as long as it doesn't contain any personal offensive or insult comments to other members. it goes both ways. even steven.. if anyone wants to make negative remarks abt lindan, then so be it..as long as it doesn't come to personal offensive or insult or vulgar language.. if it goes like this, then all the comments will be reduced to just positive or diplomatic type comments. where's the balance? where's the view/comments from the other side?..
From my perspective, I guess I did not feel the "heat" being generated his comments. I'm not LCW's personal bodyguard (like a few fans here seem to be) so there was no investment for me. I was irked, more than anything else, by his somewhat funky writing style. After a while it became too much work to interpret his postings as there were too many blanks to fill in, so I simply bypassed them. In summary, I guess I'm wired in such a way I did not really find his postings overly offensive that it would drive me to call the mods. Other people must have found him different otherwise. Oh, and don't worry limsy, I won't sue you Just beat you up in a game of badminton
who say the poster cant do so? they can after they did if they get ban=they responsible for their comment they can come back again and post again which the poster we discusing did repeatly for i dont know how many time yeah probably we will meet after 5 years hehe which i will have a easier opponent compare to kwun-drifit cup hehe
off topic: i'm sure whoever the member is, that member is responsible for their comment(s).. but what did that member posted this time around which warrants a ban, again??..if i recall there was no personal insult or offensive comments in the member's posts this time around??..even madbad didn't find anything personally insulting or offensive other than the typical "making fun of LCW" comments (ho-hum)..
Let us return to on topic . Hahaha...... When a post is deleted, no more info can be gathered. Let us return to on topic. .
maybe those posts need to be posted again so we can see whether they really can affect our day to day lives (if not mistaken, those comments were hanging around for a few days); if they can affect the day to day lives, then i think the problem lies w/the reader(s)...
i trust the mod can determine whether the poster is offensive or not to warrant a ban.. and not solely based on complaints by Bcers.... whether offensive or not...the ban is already imposed....lets learn from here and be nice in our future posts.....
We don't need to have bullies and victims here at BC . Quite surprised that experienced ctjcad has continued with off topic matters in this thread. Anyway, this post might remind us of minor-vs-major issues.
Lee Chong Wei won the 2010 Indonesia Open 2 days ago . Lee Chong Wei won the 2010 Indonesia Open 2 days ago. Chong Wei LEE [1] defeated Taufik HIDAYAT [2] 21-19, 21-8 in 37 mins. Looks like LCW will still be ranked as World No.1 for the next few months. .
Quite tough to see anyone going to snatch the World No.1 title next year if LCW can keep having this kind of performance. 2008, there were many doubters. But now, many would just say he is only second to Lin Dan currently.
Next year is OG qualification. LD & other China(since they are not participating much this year) need to participate as much as possible to gain OG pts.
Off topic: If badadum really did get banned for this comment, then I am honestly disappointed by the mods for these forums. Badadum did not mention anything that can be considered a "personal attack"; what he mentioned was merely facts. You simply cannot decide to ban a person just because he/she decided to voice his/her opinion that does not go smoothly with the majority. Mods are suppose to keep the forums clean from personal attacks; not be dictators and control what type of opinion is acceptable and what isn't. This is simply a violation for freedom of speech; nothing more, nothing less.
maybe we're seeing dejavu??.. ..anything can happen between next yr and 2012..LCW could stay as no.1 or drop in ranking.. ..also, if i am not mistaken, DLCW was WR#1 in 2006 for some periods (though not as long as now); that's about 2 yrs before the (2008) OG. Just like what we're seeing now. But realizing next yr is the OG qualification period, i wouldn't be surprised if it's gonna be dejavu all over again like from 2007-2008 where LD and the other CHN players participated in a lot of tourneys just to setup their rankings, seedings for the 2008 OG. OTOH, since the 2012 OG won't be held in China, my feeling is there will be less stress from the CHN camp to really go all out and secure any of their top players get that no.1 WR. IOW, they will participate in as many needed tourneys just to get at least 3 of their MS players in (4 would be nice, i'm sure). My feeling is, from now on they just want to "reserve" LD and the other CHN MS players for OG 2012. Even if none reaches WR#1 by the deadline for qualification period. But they will try to get as many of their top players qualified to be in that top bracket (top 4 WR). Another note to share. Basically starting from the Sudirman Cup tourney onward til the 2012 T&UC: "Qualification period The BWF ranking list of 3 May 2012 will be based on results during the period 2 May 2011- 29 April 2012" A member association with its players in the top 4 WR will get 3 players max. (singles). *btw, Topspin, i didn't know badadum got banned?? how did you know?..or maybe it's that kish-ash member you're referring to??..
The BWF ranking list of 3 May 2012 will be based on latest results . This is good for newer players wishing to participate in the 2012 OG: The BWF ranking list of 3 May 2012 will be based on latest results. .
What does that badadum got banned from this forum got to do with this thread? Furthermore, how did you know that he got banned or something?
How can one post to confirm when one is banned? . How can one post to confirm when one is banned? It's better not to talk about who like or dislike Lee Chong Wei, but to talk about who can displace Lee Chong Wei as World No.1 before the 2012 Olympics. .
