BADMINTON: BAM completes probe on Fairuz

"We interviewed Fairuzizuan and also looked into all available evidence including newspaper reports.
"Fairuzizuan regrets the incident and admitted he was wrong," said Chin Chai yesterday.

"We will hand our findings to either the exco or council. According to the constitution, the disciplinary committee cannot make a decision."

So by this logic, chan/lim. kcc/kbc, mak/tan, gws/ojh are all now should be between 1-8 in world ranking. Right ?

The question is, do they get enough tournaments, and Fuzzy gets too many tournaments.
Mak/Tan can be top 20 level in my opinion.

Fairuzizuan may pay for losing cool

“At the board hearing, Fairu*zizuan regretted his action and made an apology. He promised that there would be no such behaviour from him again,” said Chin Chai.
“We have taken into consideration that it was the first time that he had lost control of his emotions. We have forwarded our recommendation to the exco and it is for them to make a final decision,” he added.

LOL, we shall see, but I think Fuzzy should not get to go WC(Gan/TBS shall be mad if they do) and Asian Games.

Btw, when you have time, please post a review in SUKMA thread

based on current form and consistency, GTC/TBS should deserve the ticket, although we not expecting them to clinch the WC title... but there are always dark horse in WC... :)

SUKMA a, too much to comment about, but need my mind fresh to carry some neutral posts... hehe! Anyway, it should nt being treated as the actual standard of the players... they perform better with their regular partner :)

but 1 thing reminds me about how amazing the Korean even they are in stretched pair... mayb this is something that the players gonna work on... :)

Asian Games should give young pairs as 4 years time they are the ones who will carry the challenge while Fuzzy would be retired

    off topic :
Yeah, it's just reviewing the SUKMA, that's all, cos I think only you & me the BCers who watch. Goh WS/Cheah Liek Hou combined well. Here's the thread :

If I not mistaken, TKH mentioned(press interview abt his experience there) Koreans train with different partners regularly. Something that INA used to do too, during Rexy, Tony Gunawan's era.

Zakry to go on without Fairuz

"Fairuz has already faced the disciplinary committee and the recommendations will be tabled during the Exco meeting.

"However, since Zakry was not involved in any wrongdoing, he should get the opportunity to continue playing with another partner if Fairuz is suspended for a certain period of time," said Chin Chai.

Despite the controversy surrounding Fairuz, Chin Chai said the pair are still in the running to compete in the World Championships in Paris on Aug 23-29.

At the end of the qualification period on May 30, Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong (World No 1), Choong Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah (World No 12), Gan Teik Chai-Tan Bin Shen (World No 14), and Zakry-Fairuz (World No 20) were ranked among the top 24 and BAM has the right to name three pairs.

Should Fairuz escape severe punishment, there is a possibility of Zakry and him being named as the third pair ahead of Teik Chai-Bin Shen.

Well, the newspaper reported that there is a strong possibility of Fairuzizuan being punished. We shall see. And Zakry's new partner if Fairuz is punished... I wonder...

That's just the newspaper reporter's opinion, and not BAM's opinion;)

    I see. :)

Showing poor attitude in training in Singapore has a very harsh sentence.
I wonder what this, which tarnishes the badminton association's image much more than showing poor attitude in training will merit what punishment from Malaysia.

National shuttler Fairuzizuan suspended for one month
KUALA LUMPUR: National doubles shuttler Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari has to serve a one-month suspension for losing his cool during the Thomas Cup Finals in May.

Yesterday, the Badmintion Association of Malaysia (BAM)’s executive council meted out the punishment following a recommendation from the disciplinary board and Fairuzizuan will have to miss the next week’s Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold event in Johor Baru.
The exco, however, was kind enough to backdate the suspension from June 15-July 15, taking into account that the latter had already missed the recent Singapore and Indonesian Opens.

Fairuzizuan had retaliated angrily after a fan had intimidated him with vulgar signs and profanities following his defeat with partner Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif to a Japan pair during a group tie in the Finals at Bukit Jalil.
[IMG] Fight another day: Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari is consoled by coach Rexy Mainaky (right) after losing to Japan’s Kenichi Hayakawa and Kenta Kazuno in the Thomas Cup Finals in May.
