my advice is dun use court shoe not specifc to badminton , i sprain my ankle becos of that , the sole are just not right for badminton.
I am planning to get Mizuno Wave Smash wide.... i had never read any review bout this shoes before... any good of it? http://www.yousports.jp/shopdetail/003000000011/order/
i am still deciding on whether to get this Mizuno Smash Wide or YY SHB200EX or Asics Gel Forza..... currently using Asics gel rocket, love it for the cushioning(added Tuli's in sole).....
That is not necessarily true. Many indoor court shoes are suitable for badminton, but are usually restricted to those that are designed for volleyball/racquetball. Certainly, Asics offer superb cushioning for their shoes, and so does Mizuno, regardless of their specifications. It is more a matter of weight. The soles are designed to grip well, and usually use some sort of gum rubber. It is incorrect to assume all shoes other than those associated with badminton are unusable. I would simply restrict your search to court shoes and not average sneakers, kleats, or basketball shoes (xD).
I would say not quite true. Badminton shoes are generally designed with lightness, flat soles support for foward/backwards and lateral movements. Shoes outside of badminton do not necessarily have all those aspects which could affect you over time. A good example is me using Mizuno Wave Tornado 4, which is a volleyball shoe. It's heavier and it does not provide enough front foot support as the shoe collaspes easily by simply bending it. Since it's volleyball, the support was primarily focused toward the back. For a badminton shoe, it isn't that easy to bend the front part of the shoe. As a matter of fact, the Wave Tornado 4 was beginning to hurt near the front of my foot for the same reason.
Nice to see that Matt's still here to argue. xD True, the distribution of support is different, but what support is needed, regardless of how a shoe is designed, still depends on the player./end Let's get back on topic.
