    Hi,

I purchased an armortec 900t and armortec 900p 4uG5 from sumai03 about 3 years ago and i quickly fell in love with the technique. long story short, i went back to sumai03 to purchase 2 more from him this year but when they arrived they were heavier (by a few grams but substantially heavier when swinging) than my previous racket.

To reiterate, all 3 rackets are from TH with legitimate serial numbers and are 4UG5.
The difference is the older armortec 900t has a 4ug5 sticker and the newer ones have their labels laser engraved.

I have confirmed that all 3 of the rackets are genuine so my question is,

Did yonex change the formula or the recession lessen the quality of the manufacturer? Because i have been unable to find a replacement as I have just recently broken the lighter, older armortec.

    Thanks,

4U(80.0-84.9g) weight is around that for yonex standard.

    I've two AT900 4U G5.
One with thin overgrip and strung, it weights 90 g
The other with towel grip and strung, it weights 104 g.
    Both are legit.
So, it depends on what you put in each racquet, the difference can be substancial.
Both need to have the same "add-on" and they can be 4 g apart, still falls in acceptable range.
4U (80-84.9g) is the weight of an unstrung racquet.

could you be referring to the balance point (BP, not the oil spilling BP)?

If you feel them to be different during swinging, it's most likely caused by the BP is different. If possible, measure the BP and compare.

most likely its a combination of racket head weight. and obviously that would change the balance point.

my point and question is, why is yonex making 2 of the exact same rackets differently.

there are differences among the same model of rackets, even if they are made at the same time. I had similar issue with other rackets as well. I was told that it's the best to try them out personally and find the best match, which is impossible for most of us anyway.

I have bought several ARC10s 3U/G5 in the past two months and from experience, same weight class and grip size could differ by quite a bit. Which is why I always ask the shop to let me choose a racket out of say...3 or 4 to make sure I find one that is similar to the ones I have.
