    yes, yes.

Even if young ones picked and they keep fighting, they will get less criticism even if losing.

Congrats to Malaysian team for the great comeback!! Its good that the player have become more fired up for this match against the Danes. But its not yet time to take the foot off the pedal even more so when facing the Great CHinese! Stay focused and not let what the praises in the media tomorrow get into the head! When the job is done your names will be engraved in history....Malaysia Champions Thomas Cup 2010!

I think it was, and then BCL lost to Gade in the final.
Gade was hospitalized before the tournament as well.

in fact, LCW did lost to LD in MAS,
    http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/player.aspx?id=A65F43AC-74E3-4E72-91F8-66FC11E7EEE6&player=2

see my post in the thread below:
    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/printthread.php?t=84918&pp=17&page=4

although it's back in 2004, a loss is a loss. LCW should not say "never".

... and although MAS did have a good chance this time due to home court advantage...

    yes it's funny..

it's because TS did not exist in 2004 and therefore do not have a full record (which only available for post-2007 tournaments apparently).

if you search internet for that tournament result, you could find the full record from other badminton websites perhaps.

..2 hrs training or 2 hrs training @ the venue really doesn't make much difference for team CHN..every other team except M'sia's squads had the same amt of time to train/get used to the stadium. Yet, where is MAS' Uber Cup squad now??..
Frankly, I haven't seen any actions from CHN Thomas Cup team (only saw their Uber Cup team in action). But from what i gathered from those who saw them in action, they all said CHN is the best of the crop and sharpest of all the remaining teams>not a surprise to me..
I would say, MAS needs a miracle to upset CHN in today's TC Semifinals....so better get on your knees and start praying...:cool:

See, that's why I said, LCW should not boast before a major match. It always ends up ugly when he does that.

He has been doing this for many years already. Every time before a major tournament, LCW will come out like a spokesperson for the M'sian team and then try to boast and sound confident. I actually look for that as an indicator. Because I've found out that whenever he does that, he/team M'sia inevitably loses in the end.

This time let's hope he finally learns his lesson. It's a phenomenon seen only in team Malaysia. They simply cannot win if they go into a tournament thinking that they are the favourites.

Hmm. IMHO the "boast" is like a pep talk for the team. Confidence can win a few points. For your last sentence, that deduction may actually not be true.

you were quick in releasing your above post just minutes after mas lost to china to prove your point, when lcw boasts before the match, the whole mas team will loose! unbelievable! :p

what about lee yong bo, he has been boasting china winning for more than 10 years and he has a record today of 4 wins for the men and 7 wins for the women's team? what's your comment on that? :D

and lastly, how do you know they are thinking they are the favorites and not as the underdogs? just a hunch? :D

so, what do you expect your team captain come out to say before a big match? "ok, we'll try our best but quite a good chance that we're going to lose in the end no matter how hard we tried because our best is not good enough, as history told. dont say i didn't told you so." that would really help the team, wouldnt it?.
