i agree with wilfred... well it's a very good training........... since doubles game generally have more shots than singles..... choon hann got more chance of hitting the shuttles... instead of just whitewashing boonsak........... maybe in 40-50mins
I think the Choong Han pairing is playing around with the thai Pairs. They look relaxed and was smiling with each other.
This is excellent. Malaysia fielded a much weaker side (or seemingly) but still managed to outclass Thailand so convincingly. I think todays lineup has also boosted everyone's confidence, which is very important in team events. Todays selection was a very good one (based on everyones analysis), well done to both the coaches.
It's hardly surprising, really, as the papers spoke about such partnerships to be quite common during practice - in the papers during TC2000 in KL spoke about Indonesian singles players practicing lots of doubles to help in their reflex and speed. Surprising though, Malaysia does it during the real thing. But then again, Thailand isn't exactly a match for Malaysia in almost all departments, save for the first singles maybe, with all due respect to our northern neighbours.
when, when wong choon hann plays singles again.... he may have a very solid defense after today's smash.... because in a short period of time... he needs to return few smashes.....
malaysia should field a normal line up i think............ wong ch CTF/LWW LCW KKK/CCE Hafiz... god.. wong ch and chan won
They just wrap up the game 15-11 , 15-11. Now we will see how lee tsuen seng fare in the next singles.. should be no problem. It seems that Thailand may have a whitewash 5-0 from Msia.
Can someone who watched comment on Chan Chong Ming? From what I heard, Chan played very well today. Is he ready to pair up with Chew as Malaysia's second pair?
Is it possible our lineup against China/Ina could be: Roslin Choong/Lee ChongWei Choon Eng/Chong Ming ( Can be many combos here) Hafiz I know this may sound crazy, but the surprise element is there.
To me, CHong Ming has improved compared to the ABC. He was more aggresive and attacked more actually, but his smashes *sigh* again, not that powerful...Choong Hann's smashes were better and sharper.
i don't think kim hock will take the risk..... for the past 3 weeks.. choon eng has train and paired with kien keat... his game would be a lil different now.... and chong ming has no idea at all how choon eng is playing now and vice versa
May I know when will the Malaysia vs Ina/Chn match? I have to arrange my tuition classes to watch. Thanks in advance
Guys, don't forget that the singles and doubles disciplines are different in terms of strategies, tactics and mental strength.
fielding LEE TS is good too... he's been suffering from slump of form.... letting him play may boost his confidence... and no pressure on him to win... i mean is better for him to win... but not MUST win.... so he could play better without the must win pressure.... and hopefully get his confidence back..
Choon Hann is tall, thus his smashes are steeper and accurate as he has only one foe to play against and must use the full court to his advantage. Chong Ming, a doubles player is trained to smash consistenly to weaken the resolve and defence of the opponent, less emphasis on placement. Either way, why not Wong CH play against CHN or INA? He is the the king card of MAS against any team and that first point is extremely crucial in any team tie.
