Well maybe they want to win the first 2 and then lose the next 3. So it will not look so obvious.

Hola! Been out of action for a long time...so long time no see guys! :) Im in the midst of my IGCSE examinations now..so i wont be popping in as often until the end of the month. :(

Anyway..i agree with ants, malaysia is probably not gonna make it look too obvious that they want to lose. Also i think they are resting Wong Choong Hann as well..in case they do win. No point in fielding him against a weaker team, must conserve energy..no? ^__^

Haha, if that's the case, I think it will be less obvious if they lose the first 3 and win the last two. The Thais have no depth in their team and if they really lose to unknowns, it'll arouse more suspicions.

nah.. i think malaysia will win......................................

if they really wanted to loose.. they should have fielded chong wei as first singles, wan wah, then tan fook......

anyway... got two good thing..... for fielding kien keat and choon eng,

well.. first.... if they lost, malaysia should lose the tie... engineering a meeting with korea, but if they win, this proves that they're as good as any top pair........ and can beat them.............

    and they won....

i think thailand wanted to lose too........ Boonsak, second game lose his steams........... anyway.. thailand meeting any 3 won't do them good too...... three of the teams have upper hand over thailand

    I agree with you, nauknip.
    See the line-up of Mas-Thai !!!!!
If LEE Chong Wei 'or' LEE Tsuen Seng will lose, I really will not trust results.. :D
Anyway, I feel Korean Team is being disregarded

    korean team not being disregarded....

but it's because it's easier for malaysia to win them in singles then winning china and indonesia in singles

Exactly. They're a top team after all and not going to be a pushover!! Malaysia seems to be playing to their standard. Thailand may not be deliberately losing either. Past statistics have shown that teams who throw matches to avoid certain opponents usually don't have it their way eventually, so maybe it's better to win fair and square.

anyway.... i think it's good for malaysia to field choon hann /chong ming..

well.. choon hann is the weaker one in doubles.... this will force chong ming to play his best........

i think doing so can bring up chong ming's alertness....... and hopefully.... regain his form and confidence..............................

......certainly... choon hann/chong ming seem to be playing well........

    chong ming ... looks different

I don't trust the scores as I don't get to see it.

How well do they play as a pair, SJ?
Funny it is, of course. I wonder if Wong CH is trying to keep himself from laughing out loud.

And Choong Han / Chong Ming pair is leading the first set convincingly. I think these kind of weird pairings will make Team China and Indonesia guessing what kind of style and pairings will Msia come up next time.

looks like choon han is quite good in doubles too....

... he looked to be the better player of the pair.... and make very little mistakes........ good defence.... and more importantly... very hard smashes that we usually see in singles....

kim hock had said in today's newspaper that thailand's second pair is hard to beat.. even tan fook/wan wah had problems......

but... look like choon hann/chong ming having no problem........

and choon hann is remarkably good at tapping.....

Do anybody here think that the pairing is perhaps one way for Wong CH to practice on reflex and speed? Since that they are playing very well at the moment, I guess they aren't throwing matches at all and are ready to meet the two top contenders in the quarters.

Well first of all they're not bad to be honest! Wong CH is not that bad as a doubles a player. They seem to have good rythm..Chong Ming seems more alert than he was during the ABC's..(which i dont even want to remember..)

Weird combination..but good results produced though.

Not surprising that Wong Choong Hann's a good doubles player. He partnered Lee Wan Wah in the 2001 SEA Games and were bronze medallists.
