well... they only trained together about a 3-weeks ago..... kiean keat replacing the out of form chong ming. well... i think given more a little more exposure, they can take on the best pair...
I have not seen them play together but how do you rate their partnership and more so, what are their attributes? As far as I can see, most doubles are made up of two sorts of players - one setter, fast and agile, quick at the net, very good touch; while the other would be a power player who hammers smashes like there's no tomorrow from the baseline. Summary, one quick player up front with good touch, one powerful player at the back with steep and strong smash. Bear in mind, this is the classic combination and is somewhat more succesful than an all out power pair or control pair. Example: Sigit/Candra Setter/Net - Sigit Smasher/Baseline - Candra So, Choon Eng and Kien Keat, which is which?
Kien Keat - Smasher/setter/ changing angles at net choong eng - smasher(not that much)/setter/control this is my verdict..... kien keat is very fast though... especially.. driving..
Kien Keat is really the up and rising doubles player for Malaysia. Though Choon Eng - Kien Keat pair is a better pair than Choon Eng - Chong Ming pair at the moment, after the TC, the latter will have to get back together for the Olympics. Speaking of diving...Kien Keat's "stun" to change his racket while the game is still on is kinda shocking to me. I was like ..."What the heck is he doing?" In the end the Malaysian lost that rally anyway...
U saw it too huh? Yeah when i was watching Kien Keat diving to the other side and i was like..O_O "What? what did he just do?" It gave me a shock..
Erm, I thought fhchiang meant driving as in hitting drives. Anyway, about changing racket in the middle of a rally, many players have done it before. Chan Chong Ming particularly has done it many times. And they still can win in such rallies.
ooh serious? To be honest this is the 2nd time i've seen it happening..but it never fails to surprise me though.
