lol he already say fuzzy is not worthy to mention/waste his time ya know he is busy with thesis and awaiting koo/tan defeat
Well it seems that most will agree that this pair is done ... But BAM have done something, they have brought in Tan Kim Her, use him put Fuzzy pair under him and see how things goes ... Just like when they put Hafiz under Hendrawan.
___________________________________________________________________ My take is that BAM has still to use the uncles (WCH and CTF/LWW) for the Thomas Cup tournament. The back-up singles worth considering would be TCS and CKB; the doubles pair would be GTC/TBS. They could all be placed as 'reserved'. ____________________________________________________________________
__________________________________________________________________ I know how you feel but what choice has BAM when its sponsored players are not performing to expectations. :crying::crying::crying: __________________________________________________________________
huh? koo/tan lost in 1st round of ae mean bam can close shop? or u expect mas md to win german open? what kind of expectation? win every tournament? or lost by 30-29,29-30,29-30? in 2 hours?
Agreed w SkyChen, what choice we have if back up squad not up to mark. At least Ong - Hoo & Tan CS still can make it at least reserves slot. Lee WW Chong TF & Gan-Tan form were impressive. whether independent or not, the Thomas cup must be represented by the best players who can deliver point for Msia. Whether old or young. Old men like Lars P-Jonas form perform like so hungry for points. Anyway BAM will review the overall results b4 made final decision.
Of course BAM no need to close shop because of KKK/TBH's early exit in the AE10. But, i am sure BAM did not expect this pair to lost in that way, or at least, with expectable scoreline.
I disagree. Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah are already old and overweight, and they already have all the experience they could get while competing on the international stage. The BAM shouldn't call them back. As for Fuzzy, they have lost their chance in the first round of the Swiss Open. Besides that, I wouldn't call Gan/Tan and CTF/LWW form's impressive in just one tournament. My opinion is that BAM should try scratch pairing or junior pairs to help them gain experience, this year's TC hopes are as good as gone, as China is already probably going to dominate 3-0 or 3-1 over everyone. Of course, many people would prefer performance rather than slow exposure, which is why there are calls to recall Gan/Tan and CTF/LWW for the Thomas Cup. I don't support this, although I can see why people would rather have this.
Another early exit for Zakry-Fairuzizuan http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2010/3/19/sports/5893745&sec=sports “We did give a good fight at least in the first 11 points. Then, (we start to commit bunches of mistakes)it all fell apart and I do not know how and why. We lost our sense of direction in the game,” said Fairuzizuan in a telephone interview yesterday. “I know we do not have any good results to show thus far but we still hope that we will be considered for the Thomas Cup Finals. I hope that our commitment in training will be taken into account.” as if u 2 are the most hardworking in squad
No result means balik kampung already lah. Too many gf. Good to let all fight for the spot. If old couple can retrain under rexy, maybe Ada chance to pick some good points.
If Fuzzy is still called to be men's 2nd doubles, then what is the German Open for? As well don't send the juniors out at all.
Time's Up Fuzzy Tuesday March 23, 2010 Only Fairuzizuan or Zakry will get to play in Thomas Cup Finals By RAJES PAUL KUALA LUMPUR: Only Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari or Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif will get to play in the Thomas Cup Finals, which will be held at Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil from May 9-16. National chief coach Rexy Mainaky said that based on their performance in the recently-concluded Swiss Open in Basel, “there is only place for one of them”. At the Swiss Open, the duo went down tamely 12-21,14-21 to Mathias Boe-Carsten Mogensen of Denmark in the opening round. They put up a fight until the first 11 points in the opening game before running out of gas. The duo had also crashed out in the first round of the Malaysian Open in January. Rexy said the Swiss Open outing highlighted the duo’s lack of stamina. “They did well in the opening game but Fairuzizuan and Zakry could not keep pace with the speed of their opponents after a while. They have become slower than the other fast-improving world class players,” said Rexy. “I cannot field them as a pair in the Thomas Cup Finals for this reason. “But I can pair one of them up with a younger player. They have the experience and they can complement a younger pair. This is an option for me and I will look into who can best fit into my plan.” Only world number one Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong are confirmed of their spots for the Thomas Cup Finals. The other doubles pairs in the running are Ong Soon Hock-Hoon Thien How, Mak Hee Chun-Tan Wee Kiong and Lim Khim Wah-Chan Peng Soon. Kien Keat-Boon Heong made up for their first-round exit in the All-England by reaching the final of the Swiss Open on Sunday. But they failed to nail the crown for the third time after losing 18-21, 16-21 to South Koreans Ko Sung-hyun-Yoo Yeon-seong, who also disposed of their more illustrious compatriots Lee Yong-dae-Jung Jae-sung in the second round and All-England champions Lars Paaske-Jonas Rasmussen in the quarter-finals. Said Rexy: “Koo-Tan had a 13-6 lead in the second game but they gave away easy points to allow the Koreans to eclipse them. We will work on improving on their concentration. “It would have been great if they had won it. But, overall, they have given us a positive vibe going into the Thomas Cup Finals. “The duo will be relied on heavily during the team event and we will get them ready for the big task ahead.”
