I second that..I had Zymax 67 snap after 2 games,Ashaway Micro Legend snap after 2 games and Head Super power 69 abt 40 games..They were all strung t 25x27 lbs.. Now I'm on BG 70 pro on my AMP 95..It feels good though a bit less power..
not sure what you mean by "28-30lbs for plastics" but i stopped playing with plastics when i moved back to hong kong early last year and the BG70pro was still going strong for a month at the time.

I feel that my Arc10 with BG65 @ 26lb does perfect for plastic for me. AT900p w/ bg66 @26 definitely just overkills all my shots.
Ok, I am confused, I have 24lbs BG80, and sometimes when playing with freinds, and I have no money, or have ran out of feather shuttles, (even though I 90% of the time use feathers) does thy mean, when I use plastics, with thin strings, thats like playing with 28-30lbs ?? 24 + 2-3lbs for thin strings + 2-3lbs for plastics = 28-30lbs ? Like I said, I am confused.
That surely cant be right the uni club uses mavis blue (medium speed) and i use 0.66mm string @ 26lbs and half the time they shoot out the back of the court. im with LD rules Confused
if u play plastic 10% of the time, get a 2nd racket of average quality and string it to play plastic.
Sorry if I had confused the matter more with "feel" of plastic vs feather birds. First off, all else being equal, 0.66mm strings will "feel" 10% ie. 2-3lbs tighter than 0.7mm string. So, eg. BG80 @ 24lbs will feel like BG65 @ 27lbs. But plastic birds don't feel X amount of lbs tighter than feather at all. It's just that due to the nature of how the bird feels on impact, plastic requires 2-3 lbs less tension than feather in order to play and feel properly, not to mention to reduce risk of string and racket breakage from mishits. But that doesn't equate to saying that playing plastic will feel 2-3 lbs tighter than feather. See the difference?
Hi visor, I normally string mine with BG80 (0.68mm) at 24lbs. I'm thinking of using nanogy 98 (0.66mm) on my next racquet, should I reduce the tension by 2-3 lbs i.e. at 21-22 lbs in order to have the same feel of BG80 at 24lbs? Thanks.
Probably reduce by only 1 lb. Also, another factor to consider: rackets with flexier shafts can be strung with higher tension to "feel" the same on impact as a racket with a stiffer shaft.
Anyone try playing plastic shuttles with NBG 98? I have a pack of it, but not sure what tension to string it at. I normally play 27lbs with 0.69-0.70mm gauage, thinking 23 or 24lbs with the 0.66mm string...shoulld i go any lower for durability reasons?
