The filtering of threads or certain members' posts won't be in our system

    .
We have drifit's post summing it up for us.

The filtering of threads or certain members' posts won't be in our system nor will BC do it. This is because kwun and BC do not wish to discriminate.

When you enter someone in the Ignore List, all the person's posts will have the following message "This message is hidden because Kwun is on your ignore list."
Give it a try, it's fun. Click on UserCP on top left corner just below BC banner and look way down to bottom left corner. Click on Ignore List and enter the Trolls' name. :D You can undo later.

Won't hide everything but the system is there..

..*sigh*..it's okay, if still confused, then we can wait for our george@chongwei if he knows the answer or not.
Here lah, for easier explanation, just compare these 2 links below. Are they the same link or not? This is the whole point of the question (1st one is for unsubscribing to threads; 2nd one is for BadFever's query):
    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions
    http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/profile.php?do=editlist

Is the add group/ignore/block members - only functioning in PM??;)
Is the filtering threads or certain members' posts - not in system nor will do it?;)
See post #116 (explained in that link)??..and you found out already..
..of course, that's inevitable. I don't think it's possible to hide the unwanted posts from appearing when other members quote them, in any forum platform.
But, of course, at the end, it's up to the other BCers to resist or not resist the temptation to reply to the annoying poster(s).
..never know til you tried it, right?? it did work, didn't it??..you can test & put my username too, in your Ignore list to test..;)

oh... Jimbo. May your poor soul rest in peace.:crying:

    Back on topic:

It's amazing that people need to be protected by a "message"(offensive or not) in a forum. If one can not deal with such minor issue(eg. insults, disagreement, or the best one "Your idol sucks") that can not do any physical harm, how on Earth do you people expect to survive in the competitive world today?

There is definitely no need to have psychological harassment at BC

    .
Minor issues to some can be major issues to others.

True. Physical harm cannot be inflicted via BadmintonCentral. But psychological harm can be. There is definitely no need to have psychological harassment at BC.

Also true that we live in a competitive world. But BadmintonCentral is not created for us to be competitive. And we don't need to have bullies and victims here.

Psychological harm???:eek::eek: That's so funny to the point that it is sad.
Such weak people should avoid leaving the comfort of their home, and never turn on the TV, computer, or any sort of media, if they don't want to be hurt psychologically. LOL

Don't tell new BCers they need to be tough to join in our discussions

    .
We gathered together to talk about the sport we love, which is Badminton. We just want to see rational, respectful and well mannered discussions in BC.

Therefore, we do not need experienced BCers who are habitually intimidating to our newer BCers. Make our new BCers feel welcomed.

Don't tell them they need to be tough to join in our BC discussions. ;););)

IMHO, experienced BCers know how to handle impolite comments. Our newer BCers might not.

If you never, never try, you will never, never know

    .
Hahaha... Like they say: "If you never, never try, you will never, never know".:):):)
The 'Ignore List' that we have mentioned/given in earlier posts is quite effective.

any post from chris-ccc will be hidden. lower left of that hidden space/post, there will be an indication
"This message is hidden because chris-ccc is on your ignore list."

Here is another way to do it :

    Click on the user name,
    click view profile,
then click ignore list (on the right side) and
    save list.

    To undo, just unchecked box.
