Hi all, I have had my Armortec 800DEF restrung the other day. It is now 10kg's (aprox 22lbs). I noticed however, that the shape of the head of my racket, has changed. It is rather obvious when I compare it to my other copy of the 800DEF, with a bit lower tension. The new strung racket's head is....longer. Is this normal? Or should it not happen? And if so, is it because of tension the racket cannot handle, or is it a mistake from the stringer? Thanks for the response, Cheers, Chris
It really depends on the situation. Please post some comparison photos. There could be two reasons: 1. Your "long-headed" AT800DE could have had its cross strings tensioned too high; the recommended is 10% more than the mains and anything more will look weird. 2. Your non-faulty AT800DE could have been tensioned wrongly that the frame is more round than needed. IF this is the case then your stringer did no wrong. Still we (the community here) need to see some photos before we can start commenting on it.
Thank you for the (very!) quick reply. I'll try to make some pictures tonight and post them. Thanks, Chris
From my point of view, might be there's a crack line in your racket frame that is making your frame weak. Some crack lines are internal and invinsible to our naked eyes. 22LBS is already quite a low tension so i don't thing it will make much difference to your racket frame if there is nothing wrong with it. Just a friendly opinion of mine. Cheers!
