For ctjcad who is far away, will have to plan well ahead. As for me, JB, it's just 3 hours drive. Should be np. Meanwhile, we will enjoy the WC first.:)

    Quote from ctjcad:

..i thought you already attended the WC in 2007?? It's the same, except different venue and slightly different players involved..

ya it's true ive been in WC 2007, i like the atmosphere of wc that's why if i have a chance i wanna attend it again...
im a badminton lover and over the past year i can't attend many tournaments since im still studying and since im working now if i got chance ill attend any big scale tournaments..i wont miss it

There's not going to be any piggybacking whatsoever ....... wakakakaka :p. There is no formal group plan for this event, unlike Jakarta Thomas/Uber Cup 2008 where even the USA BC forummers were represented by their "senior squad".

But some of the forummers here are from India and could give any interested party pointers on what to expect.

My hope is that the ferocious drift problem at the stadium is addressed. Shuttles have been seen going out as far as 18 inches from a female player's push.

rest assured mikemike Hyd is a safe place. actions of some dumbheaded micreants shouldnt be a deterent to anyone planning to come for the world's or for that matter visit Hyd at any time of the year.

as with genreic thumbrules of travel, understand the place you are going to, mix adventure with caution and keep your wits abt yourselves and you will have a good time

This sounded more like, understand the path you are walking on, mix adventure on those "suicidal" auto taxis with caution and keep your wits when observing all those, ahem, stuff that are done around Indian roads, and you will have a swell time. :D

But the threat of "bombs" are all too real, organic ones, that is. :p

What are you talking about hot sun for, you are scaring Loh. It is rainy season now in Hyderabad. Should be cooler, and the sun isn't as hot as in KL/Singapore. Besides, the "suicidal" auto taxis are plentiful and operate 24 hours in case walking isn't your cuppa tea.

Hi Guys, I am currently in hyderabad only and my office is hardly some 4 kms from the Gachibowli stadium, home is nearer some 3 kms. Currently the weather is pleasant and it is expected to be more cooler in a couple of days. With some 2 weeks to go, if any of you have any question in regard of anything, wheather, food, accomodation, tickets and all you can just shoot all of them at me and I will try my level best to get all of them resolved. I'll for sure be at the tournament (if my work doesn't come in between). We can even plan a BC get-together. Hope to see you all soon here.

P.S.- I will be visiting the satdium today for getting every information about the tickets and all. Will post them 2morrow.

About 10kms walk. I would be half dead upon reaching the stadium but good for training your legs for badminton games I guess. Take plenty of pictures, Sir. Thank you.

    Hey Bro Din,

Tell us more about your plans. I think Spore has a budget flight to Chennai but how do you go to Hyderabad from there? By train? And some details about your accommodation too. How many days there or is it going to be a weekend trip, arriving on Friday afternoon and leaving on Monday morning? :D

I am flying off to Chennai on 12th August evening, then another first domestic flight out to Hyderabad on 13th. Should be able to reach the Stadium around noon.

Leaving on 17th early morning 1 am.

Looks good, I suppose you'll be able to watch from the crucial R3 onwards till the finals.

Crucial because LCW is up against NTM that day.

No problem booking the domestic flight to Hyderabad? Through internet? :D

As the, ahem, almost neutral fan and BC commentator, I am not concerned about LCW's fate ...... or any of the Malaysian players, wakakakaka. :p I am not the typical Malaysian BC forummer.

Yup, you should know that booking indirect flights is much cheaper than direct flights. Saved me a cool USD 80 bucks.

Sigh, can't budge Loh out of his lazy chair at home in Sunny Singapore. :crying:

Looks like I will be there, only with pjswift and jen. And probably Avataar and Davey (though they'd be very busy doing, ahem, official and reporter work) + other Indian-based forummers we haven't met. Not such a big BC gathering after all.

So who else is actually going, esp. from outside of India?
