    Hi, i'm a intermediate player using a ti 10 3rd gen,
like the feeling of the racket overall,
currently the racket is using bg66 at 23ibs,

as i'm not a very attacking player(more to placing, defence and drop shot player),
    1) i do find the string tention do not give me the type of power when rebounce i desire
    2) it's seems too bouncy and sometime when i go for a hard drive, dun feel good also.,

So expert over here, do you think i should restring it to maybe 24 or 25 or more? or even lesser? or any other string type to suggest?

    Thanks!!:)

BG-66 is respultive and a bit of a soft feeling string. Maybe you could try a different string to see what hapepends.

Maybe BG-80 or BG-68Ti could be an alterative to test besides raising the tension up.

It really depends on you , first go slightly higher , if you find the strings too loose , and see what tension you like.

Then you can start playing around with string choice as Matt said.

Its all up to your personal preference.

Nope, no fixed formula or anything. All we could give you is some guidence in trying to help you choose what string suits you.

thanks for reply, matt and kris,

so i'm i right to say the problem i'm facing now, the way to experience is to increase the tension?
in that case, i try to go two level up to 25....
    thanks so much. :)

It usually takes a few tries to get to the right racket+string+tension combo. There's no generic formular or shortcut to it. The only one can be honest to you is your own hand.

Hi all again, recently i went back to the shop and tell him my problem, told him i want it to be tighten to 25 as i feel it's bouncy.

Although i have not use the racket yet, i'm having this weird feeling.

I use my hand to press on the string, it feels so hard. Hard to imagine how any higher tension feeling will be. and i see so many player here have tension of 28-32.
Is it just suppose to be so hard or i'm i being paranoid. ?

also i'm using a ti10 3rd gen, is such a tension going to break my racket if i defence against hard smash or give hard smash?

    Thanks.

I'm very sorry to let you know that with a tension of 25 on the ti-10 3rd gen. When you smash, or defend against a hard smash, your racket will shatter into more than a million pieces :(

Ti-10 can take 30lbs no problem. Even the 3rd gen. Just make sure not a lot of mishits and no racquet clash.

Any racquet will shatter with enough mishits on the frame and clashes.
Go to a reputable stringer and ask the stringer's opinion on how much to string.
If sufficient experience, he should be able to tell you how much he has string on that particular racquet before.
Most national level players string around 30lbs. It's a norm.
